Best crab sandwich ever!

Warm welcome; very prompt service and tasty home cooking. Reasonable price too. Three of us had the fish and chips; one had the veggie burger. That was less good than the fish.

Lovely roaring fire. Nice decor. Smiling owners. Haddock and chips first class and well priced. Really glad we found this place. Excellent!

We don't normally get drawn in by people handing out flyers but glad we did for this restaurant as we got off the steam train at Mallaig. Lots of choice on the menu, especially fish and seafood. We were tempted by the seafood platter but it seemed too much for lunch. Instead the ploughmans and mussels that we had were... More

A very nice surprise, found by chance and had such good food that we returned for our second night in the town. Good for fresh seafood and other regular gastro-pub type food.

On visiting Mallaig we came upon The Chlachain Inn. Trip advisor rated well so popped in for an evening meal. Food was very good especially the Cullen Skink. Staff are excellent and with good real ales it makes for a must visit restaurant in the area of Mallaig.

Drizzle, wind and a Tuesday night in downtown Mallaig. What a find! Huge roaring fire, staff making eye contact, welcoming a d pleased to help. Food and beer just great. Good prices. Decor - thoughtful and modern, comfortable and clean. Just a great relaxing pub to spend the evening. Thank you.

We booked this a few months ago as we were going on the Jacobite railway and needed somewhere for lunch - what a great find. The welcome was really warm and we had a fabulous lunch - it was the best seafood I have had, it was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection, I'm normally not a great fan of... More

We were on holiday in Skye and we caught to Mallaig and had a few hours to kill before catching the train - as there are many places to eat we asked a local if they had any preferences and they directed us to the Chlachain Inn. We look at the menu and through the window and almost didn't go... More

Really terrific food. A great chef who knows what he's doing when it comes to sea food. One of our party used the Cullen Skink here as the bench mark for our whole tour of the Highlands and Islands - it remained unbeaten.
