Stopped in between ferry arrival from Skye and departure of the Jacobite steam train. The menu intrigued us, but the food will definitely bring us back if we are in Mallaig again. Staff was great also. Decor is upbeat and fun. Did I mention we loved the fresh Scottish cuisine ?

We were looking for a good evening meal and found it in this Inn that is just a bit out off the way from the main street. From the way we were greeted until the payment of our food, we felt very welcome and the atmosfere was all the time very relaxed with all patrons eating or just sitting at... More

Recommended by Gary at Glencairn B & B, the Chlachain ticked all of our boxes. Friendly, happy welcoming staff, good selection of beers, excellent food. We had scallops with black pudding and chef's chicken special both were deliciousl. Generally find that places suggested and used by locals are good quality. This one certainly was. Highly recommended.

We visited this pub just for a drink but was so impressed with the friendly welcome and the look of the food we decided to return for a meal. The food was so fresh, so tasty and portion sizes were very good. We were looked after very well and would definitely recommend this atmospheric pub. Very often you eat out... More

We popped in here for lunch during the Jacobite stop. The waitresses were friendly and made our daughter very welcome. They didn't mind us just ordering starters and the cullen skink and the mussels were lovely and fresh. The childrens menu was ok and the food that arrived was freshly made and not processed. The service was fast but there... More

I was there on the lunch break from the Fort William "Harry Potter" tour. The staff were very friendly and I had the fisherman's seafood platter which was both ample and tasty. The atmosphere was good for a pub lunch.

The mussle were so fresh and tasty! Its £16-17 per serving perfect for one person or 2 person sharing. Cook to a perfection. A must try. Hot choco was so chocolatey. Staff were so friendly and can be busy during the Jacobite season.

Decor was run of the mill Service was run of the mill Prices however, were on par with one of the oldest and most famous seafood restaurants in my hometown Glasgows city centre!! The food was certainly not. I thought this place was expensive and had we been getting linen tablecloths, fine dining, wine service etc I'd think it was... More
