we tried it because of the tripadvisor advice on the window... the steak pie was quite good and the soup of the daytoo, while the noodles with fish were not a good match

Good service, great food, uncrowded and nice civilised fellow diners! Reasonably priced and just short walk up from the sea front.

We popped in for dinner one night as we were camping and not many places let dogs in. Here you can bring your dog into the bar area. Lovely food, haddock was huge and very fresh. Kids enjoyed their proper fish fingers and chicken goujons! Service was very quick.

Went here after reading reviews of course there were some negitive reviews but most of them did not involve seafood and I thought why would you go to a seafood restaurant and not have seafood. We arrived and the waitress ignored me and spoke to the gent behind me who was in a party of 8. I said there are... More

Our resident chef has been cooking seafood for over 30 years. The chances that she "possibly overcooked" your langoustines is highly unlikely. Other customers (also in our steam train rush hour) absolutely loved them! All of our seafood is freshly delivered every day and cooked fresh to order. Our freshly cooked chicken burgers are marinated in chilli and garlic (clearly... More

My son got real 'fish fingers' for his kids meal. Very fresh. He loved it. Chicken nuggets for my daughters kids meal were excellent too. Proper chicken nuggets too! The adults cleaned their plates too. Best meal all holiday!

Had lunch on a really hot summers day a couple of weeks ago, and what a good decision it was to come here. Service was polite and efficient but the food was brilliant for such an apparently non assuming place. We ate on the patio at the back - burgers are fairly standard fare, but these burgers were among the... More

We ate in the bar area, which was not as nice as the restaurant, which looked very cosy, but the food was excellent, nevertheless.

Poor service overpriced and overcooked food. Beer garden was nice until we could hear chefs moaning and swearing about having to cook certain meals.. Wont been back

Having taken the. Journey made famous by the Harry Potter train we had few hours to kill before doing the return journey. We had no prior knowledge but chose the Steam Inn, although not busy at first we took a chance. Hubby had fish and chips, it was fab and good value with a Scottish twist of breaded fish with... More
