we happened on this lovely little pub thanks to tripadvisor...it looks a little inauspicious from outside up a little road near the harbour...but don't be fooled..inside it's an oasis with good beer and nice food.

This is the perfect example of an overrated Tripadvisor restaurant as our lunch was the worst meal we've had in Scotland. The pizza that was served was certainly not home made, it had holes on the bottom and tasted like cardboard, and the chorizo topping was the worst ever tasted. The chili chicken wrap wasn't much better. Like the pizza,... More

Came off the steam train on 28th ordered 4 main meals. Pizza, steak, monkfish and Mac cheese. The Mac cheese was luke warm with very hot chips but the other 3 meals were fantastic. 3 happy people. I had the monkfish special which had a little too much risotto for me but was delicious. Fab wee place, nice beer garden... More

Came off the steam train from fort william. Went into the steam inn 4 of us. Ordered three cheese boards for £8.50 each and a jacket potato with cheese. Jacket potatoe came up with a bit of old processed melted cheese on top very poor. When our cheese boards arrived we thought it was a joke. Three of the smallest... More

We stopped here for a quick pint in the beer garden, which is large and well sheltered. We ended up staying for food and were not disappointed, it was excellent and very well priced. Service is good and friendly.

A little off the beaten track, but excellent service, reasonable prices, comfy seating and the best fish and chips with 'mushy peas' I have had in a long time. The fish was breaded in oats and was obviously straight off the fishing boat in the small fishing village of Mallaig. What a treat!

Stayed in Mallaig for two nights and on both nights we ate here as we were very impressed I the first night. Friendly staff. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Child friendly. Fantastic food, with local produce. Mussels were fresh and tasty. My wife had a lite dish the first night and it was huge! And tasted lovely. Second night I... More

Stayed in Mallaig for 1 night and visited the Steam Inn for a meal, drink and watch the World Cup. The food was lovely, bar staff were great even though they seemed to be little overwhelmed by the large numbers in the bar. The fish supper was one of the best I have ever had.

A smart pub, with a restaurant alongside. Eating in the bar, the food was very good. Had seafood pasta, which was full of good seafood, and well seasoned and balanced. Reasonable value and would definitely go again
