Just what you want from a seafood restaurant in a fishing village. Simple food, well cooked, letting nothing get in the way of the super fresh seafood. I ate a plateful of Scottish langoustine, which were huge, like mini lobsters, a real treat. The Cullen skink seafood soup for starter was excellent. It also served tasty Skye craft beer, and... The well appointed upstairs dining room has a very good range of excellent fish dishes as well as other choices. Helpful friendly staff make for a very enjoyable dining experience .I had some of the largest langoustine I have ever eaten, big enough to need claw crackers to get all the delicious insides

mostly fish restaurant but had veggie options which were thoughtfully made and unusual. Service was exceptional probably as earlier in day had been less so in our hotel

"Cullen Skink" may sound awful to you. Try it anyway. Not as rich as the standard French Bouilliabase, the smoked Haddock along with crusty bread and the local Red Ale makes a nice light meal on it's own. Toss in a a platter of the local langoustine and two of you will be well fed for the evening. For the... More

We were staying in the B&B above the restaurant and ate here on our first night. The menu was great but we had already decided it was a haddock and chips night ! We certainly were not disappointed, the fish was beautifully cooked in a crispy batter and the chips freshly cooked. Home made tartare sauce too. View from our... More

We were given a recommendation for Cornerstone and we were so pleased. They were very accommodating in getting us our food in a timely manner so that we could make the ferry on time. We had the leek and goat cheese tart which was sooooo good. Give them a try.

After a trip to Eigg, we decided to carry on up to Mallaig for some fish. We were immediately impressed with the menu and headed in. We were seated immediately by the very nice waiter. He took our orders promptly and was very polite. We had crab for starters, which was delicious. For mains we had haddock fishcakes in a... More

A warm welcome by friendly staff but the menu was a little disappointing. I had a monkfish curry which was fairly bland and my partner had a steak which also lacked in the wow factor. I found the prices quite steep too for the standard. £50 plus for two meals and one drink each so really could have been better.

We had visitors from Honduras hoping to dine on fish from a fishing village in Scotland. We arrived in Mallaig just after 3 p.m. and almost all of the chippy and fish restaurants were closed. The Cornerstone was just about ready to close but were more than willing to invite us in to eat. All 8 of us had the... More
