We took a holiday in the north of Scotland at the end of September this year ,and part of break was a steam trip from Fort William to Mallaig which included a trip across the longest Viaduct in the UK,which was very impressive. Fort William is right under Ben Nevis and is the end of the line for Sleeper trains... More

We arrived at Mallaig after a couple of hours on the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William. Unsure where to eat we stumbled across the Cornerstone Restaurant, opposite the pier. Simply, it serves up great food. There were a few 'specials' and the crab claws were an excellent starter (the langoustines just lost out). We followed this up with the... More

during a recent visit to Mallaig I revfisited the cornerstone restaurant. I arrived just as the rush from the steam train The Jacobite was thinning out. This was my second visit, the first was memorable, this visit was similar. I choose Cullen Skink, then Local Mussels, both were excellent. service is relaxed and friendly, I can recommend this venue whole... More

We had taken the Jacobite Steam Train and stayed overnight in Mallaig. We decided to go to the Cornerstone restaurant rather than the hotel we were staying in. What a good choice that was. We turned up at 8.30 and the restaurant was completely full, so remember to try and book in advance. Someone had been silly enough to not... More

I thought I had tasted the best fish and chips in the UK but i was wrong! We visited Mallaig for a few hours as part of a west coast rail journey with our rather large dog. Sitting in the restaurant wasn't an option for the dog so we had fish and chips sat on the seats the other side... More

The layout is cosy, the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. The menu range makes choosing difficult - and then there are the Specialities of the Day!! The service personal and pleasant with care taken to personal preferences. Portions are generous and generally leave us gazing at the desserts, wishing we had larger stomachs. We would never miss this restaurant on a... More

My wife and I took the Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig on 6th October and had lunch here. The food was excellent, the location convenient and pretty and the service friendly. Although there was just the two of us,we requested a four seat table by the window to get the view and the owner kindly obliged, even... More

Ate here after reading recommendations on Trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Had a window seat overlooking the harbour. Good choice from basic fish and chips to more expensive dishes - I had the langoustines; very generous portion and beautifully cooked. Service was excellent, were given a friendly welcome. Would highly recommend if you ever find yourself in Mallaig.

Enjoyed Lunch here after a stunning ride on the Jacobite Train from Fort William. The restaurant is located a short walk from the Railway Station and has views over the Harbour. It is located upstairs and it was a very warm day so all the windows facing the Harbour being open added to the meal. We had Scallops and Langoustines... More
