Absalutely fabulous meal from start to finish. I had the mushrooms served with lovely bread. And the smoked haddock with a locally produced cheese for the cheese sauce served with a basket of vegetables absolutely delicious. Although a small place I was lucky enough to get a table for one . But probably advisable to book. Staff were very friendly... More

Ate on a Thursday night and fortunately had a table booked as several couples e were turned away showing the reputation this small intimate bistro has. Excellent food. Particularly recommend the seafood chowder for a calorific overload and the "posh" fish and chips was excellent with enormous langoustines. A small menu but covering fish and meat all cooked by one... More

Recommended by a colleague and what a good recommendation it was. Luck to get in on the second night of our stay in Lochcarron having booked day before so I would suggest you book ahead to avoid disappointment. No menus just everything on the wall chalkboard, very intimate, seating for around 15 diners. Not the cheapest, nor the dearest, but... More

Lovely perfectly cooked and presented John Dory and seabass. The young staff were also very pleasant indeed. I would say that the room did need a bit of additional heating as it felt a tad chilly. Ate there two nights so it didnt put us off although the Batman music got a bit samey!! Probably our most expensive dining experience... More

An intimate experience in a fabulous location. A reasonable range of fish and meat dishes are available. The sea food is lovely and the staff very welcoming. However the room is on the cold side which lets this establishment down so bring a jumper. Also booking is advisable as we saw many who turned up on spec turned away despite... More

It was a lot of fun to eat here: the music was nostalgic and upbeat, and everyone was cheerful and friendly. While the menu was a little bit expensive, it was unquestionably worth it. Between presentation and taste, it was...formidable, you might say. The bistro itself had a lovely interior, and we'll undoubtedly return next time we come to Lochcarron.

Having rang to see if there was a table, we weren't disappointed when we got there. An absolutely fabulous small bistro with lots of charm. The food was tasty and well cooked, though maybe a tad overpriced for some of the things on offer. The staff who were working were polite and friendly. It was definitely an enjoyable meal!

We ended up staying in Lochcarron unplanned (a road traffic accident had closed the main road North of Applecross, so back over the Bealach na Ba we went, and ended up staying in Lochcarron for the night). A local had recommended the Bistro for dinner, and we were so glad they did. Fantastic food with high quality local ingredients -... More

Excellent service, seafood chowder packed with flavour. Scallops and black pudding sweet and tender. Followed by venison medallions and sirloin steak all cooked to perfection. Steve the chef and proprietor took great pride in his work. Small and friendly great service.
