Very intimate setting. Great food. Lovely service. Brilliant staff. Made you feel special without being in your face.

Excellent service. The food was good but the prices were steep. Small and very clean. We were short on choice due to eating a bit late. Sorry we missed the place down the street, they were closed.

Great fish and chips - ultra fresh fish and good chunky chips one night; the other - langoustine and mussels - delicious! Friendly, cheerful service too.

Recommend booking a table and we found it worth going early too as some dishes are clearly popular and sell out. The portions are really generous - three of our party had haddock and chips which was really well presented and went down well; I opted for two starters instead of a main and can thoroughly recommend the seafood chowder... Visited here on the strength of reviews but was rather disappointed. From the indifferent welcome (kept waiting in the doorway for some time despite many free tables) to the disappointing and overpriced food and frankly bizarre music. Very expensive food lacking in flavour, watery microwaved vegetables and oversalted starters. The service was bored and irritable. At these prices, get your... More

We had read some excellent reviews so were pleased to be able to book a table at short notice. This Bistro was busy and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I enjoyed an excellent mushroom starter but the fish and chips main disappointed - the batter and chips were both soggy. My partner had little to choose from as a vegetarian and... More

I think this is one of the best meals I have had out in a very long time. Excellent food, beautifully presented and great service. Nice touch with The Broons and Oor Willie books. Would definitely come back and would happily go out of my way to eat here again.

It's not much to look at but don't let this put you off. The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. The foods very good, not expensive but be aware the portions are big lol some great views if you eat outside or manage to get a window seat.

On a particularly wild and rainy evening, the staff were immediately welcoming. Someone in the kitchen knew what they were doing here too. We had great scallops with black pudding, and langoustines and mussels presented with humour and style. The restaurant itself plays an eccentric mix of nostalgic 60s toons and each table has a vintage Scottish comic book on... More

It may look plain outside and quirky inside but the food is in no way quirky it was the best haddock and chips my husband had in Scotland. I had cullen skink and I did wonder at one time whether I was going to be able to eat it all. There was (for us) fabulous 60s music going on and... More
