My partner and I dined during late afternoon and early evening so the restaurant only had under 20 people in. First impression, the restaurant decor and design is dated;- very 1980s look with a pub design carpet in red/gold/brown. In fact the decor is very 1980s brown. With regards to the food, it's very ordinary pub food. Think of Beefeater... More

Great little hotel, very comfortable and well prepared rooms. Stunning views over the local moors and ample car parking. Beer and food were decent although not overly exciting. Breakfast offered a good selection and we were well satisfied. All in all a good value hotel close to where we wanted to be.

Arrived on a rainy Saurday lunchtime and only two other tables were taken. We ordered a few snacks and asked for them all to be brought at the same time. 25 minutes later (even though the place was so quiet!) the staff member approached our table with one plate, looked at us and realised we wanted all the food. He... More

The surroundings are beautiful and the decor inside is the same. It's just a shame about the standard of food. It is fairly expensive for what you get! Probably wouldn't go back, as there are plenty of other places to try in the surrounding area!

Went for Sunday lunch in early May in the restaurant (one can also eat in the bar). Fish cakes were advertised either as a starter or as a main and we ordered them for a starter, only to be told they had none available which we found curious as the place was not busy. My husband then ordered a spring... More

The menu was varied and catered for the different tastes within our party. The food was very good and well presented. There is an option to have smaller portions of some things in the main menu which was an excellent idea for some of our group. The children's menu was particularly good quality and value and would be a reason... More

The staff need to go on a customer service course, the assistant manager needs training properly and there needs to be more staff working here to make it more efficient. The function room and accommodation is great but the staff are just shocking

I visited the Huntsman on evening of 12/04/14 with my family for an annual meal provided by my elderly parents. A family get together, where we could all sit, relax, have nice meal. We have had the family get together at the Huntsman for the past 3-4 years, so we thought we knew what to expect. We were shown to... More
