We Stayed at the Huntsman Inn on the 23rd Dec 2014. Our small group consisted of my Fiancée, pet pooch Kilo and my mother. We also met my sister and brother in-law for dinner there later the same evening. As soon as we arrived at reception we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our respective rooms. My... Ate here on our way back from Holmfirth on a cold wet day, the log burning fire was perfect for keeping us warm. As for the food and service, it was excellent. had the full chicken between two of us, would easily have been enough for three people. Came with a good selection of veg and plenty of it. Both... Just visited for a quick lunch and was pretty impressed. Service was quick, good was good. There is a really cosy and warm atmosphere here so it would be perfect for Sunday dinner.

Recently dined at The Huntsman, We we're a little unsure what to expect having read some of the reviews, but we needn't have been. The staff from start to finish we're very attentive without being too over the top, nothing was too much trouble. The food was spot on, well presented & hot. I will be recommending the huntsman to... We called in for a beer and sandwich one weekday lunchtime and whilst impressed with the quality of the food we felt the bar was under staffed.

We went with friends and our baby and the starters were tremendous! We had the black pudding and the garlic mushrooms. Hubby and our friend asked for a poached egg on black pudding and this was no problem. Then, we had to wait absolutely ages, over an hour for main courses, I only had a beef sandwich, my friend a... Ordered 2 roast dinners - Beef and Pork and sausage and mash. The 2 roast dinners arrived after a long wait approx. 30 mins although didn't seem very busy. We then waited a further 5 mins for the sausage and mash and 1 dish of vegetables - no communication during this time. A second dish of vegetables arrived later still,... More

We had a day in Holmfirth the stayed the night at The Huntsman. We took our German Shepherd with us so stayed on the ground floor dog friendly rooms these were very well thought out. There is a door located next to the rooms so when he decided he wanted out at 4am we didn't have to rumble round the... More

Just down the road from "Last of the summer wine" country, this is a lovely inn at a great location with views over picturesque countryside. We had a bar meal and can thoroughly recommend the roast pork with black pudding mash, cabbage &bacon- absolutely delicious and cooked just right. Other diners also seemed well satisfied with their meals. Nice range... More

Called in early lunchtime and chose a smaller meal from the menu. Gammon, egg, chips and peas, all very nice and enough for a lunch, £5.95. Nicely cooked and quickly delivered. No complaints, would happily go again. Nice surroundings. Great views.
