Went back to The Toad and Tatie last night and came away wondering why we had left it so long. The food is of the highest quality, the service informal, friendly and efficient and the whole experience so much better than you should expect from a restaurant outside of a big city. We were with friends and all four of... More

Visited friday and several times before. Excellent home made watercress soup. Sea Bass and Chicken main courses very good. Main reason for reviewing is to express the frustration at fellow reviewers. Just read 'massive disappointment ' - it must be 'massively' frustrating for business's (not just this) to get nailed by reviewers who have clearly not eaten at and have... More

I went to the toad and tatie to catch up with some old friends. We settled ourselves in a small corner near the bar and kitchen after being happily served drinks by the bar staff. After ordering our food we talked amongst ourselves, which had we not had many months of news to exchange with each other we would have... More

Although it is more of an eating pub, we called in for a pint on a bike ride. Staff very friendly even though we were soaking wet! Best beer for miles around and the menu looked great too!

We visited last night, and the choice of tapas was excellent. Some "standard" tapas items, and some unusual ones too. We chose 5 tapas between the two of us, and all were very, very good. Washed down with 2 pints of Platinum Blonde (very good) and 2 glasses of wine. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. First rate.

Food very average, and very overpriced compared to other local tapas restaurants. Staff arrogant and very defensive when asked reasonable questions.

Best Tapas we've had in England by a long way. These guys could even teach the Spanish a thing or two.

Worst case scenario - we got lost on way to our b n b - so frazzled on arrival - due to see a gig in Picturedrome in Holmfirth, not sure of start time, so more frazzling! We tried a pub up the road from here but walked out due to so much cigarette smoke filtering through from the door... More

The first time I went to this restaurant it was superb, everything was cooked to perfection, the service we received was second to none, I had such a nice time I planned on revisiting, but in doing so I was extremely disappointed,my steak was burnt, soggy chips, over cooked spinach, crunchy turnip, dauphinois potatoes were unevenly cut so some were cooked better than others... A pleasant environment, a warm welcome, genuine family run service and good hearty cooking -what's not to like about this place. There is an excellent selection of beverages to compliment an eclectic choice of fayre that has yet to disappoint. I would normally take a cheese plater to end a special meal but having tasted the raspberry frangipane tart I... More
