Headed to Holme for a walk around Digley and Bilberry reservoirs, afterwards we went back into Holmfirth and returned to Nicks Kitchen. Once again we weren't disappointed to enjoy good quality home cooked food for a great price in this hidden gem. Would recommend anyone to try the daytime menu. Keep up the good work Nick.

Had a lovely meal last night with my husband. Gorgeous food and pleasant service. Not expensive either! First visit - of many, I'm sure! Thanks, Nick!

We read the reviews on TA and had to give it a try; we were not disappointed with our "brunch". I had kedgeree and my wife a fancy egg dish. Both were absolutely delicious. Had a real "home cooked" taste and look about them. As the small upstairs room was rather warm, we chose to sit outside. It's a shame... More

Called in today for breakfast for the first time since June and it was gorgeous. The food look appetising on the plate and the ingredients were of obvious quality and very tasty. I've been staying in the area for a week and so far no breakfast compares. I have already booked for an evening of fine dining next month (... More

Really quite good but you could beat them at their own game if you tried a bit. This is a 'should try' place in Holmfirth but it really does need an injection of ambience to make you want to go again and tell your friends. Can't fault what we had but then with such a limited and simple (though delicious)... More

Ate here last night and cannot find fault with anything. Food was excellent; started with the camemburt with pecan nuts and smoked salmon, mains we had lamb and sea bass and we both finished with the cheese board. Also get a lovely plate of fresh bread and butter and olives before your starter. Service was very good and even though... More

Nicks food is very good. Imaginative and well presented . Hard to pick a starter - the baked Camembert was excellent . Main courses were spot on too . But the corkage fee is just not on when there is no wine list anyway . Turn the lights down, light some candles and try a little music and the pleasant... More

Having lived in this area for fifteen years I have not found better food anywhere. The breakfasts are fantastic- quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Pre-booking for the evening meals is essential and they are exquisite. Only down side is service can be slow and opening patterns unpredictable. This is just how it is: I've eaten here alone, with friends and... More

I had read the reviews and thought I would give the place a try on a recent visit. Initially shocked to find this small but pleasant eatery empty around 2 in the afternoon. Even more shocked when I sampled the food - cannot understand why people are not queuing up outside. An absolute treat and a must try again place.... More
