Welcoming watering hole!

Just popped in, on the off-chance, one weekday evening - we have been here during a summer's weekend early evening and the place was absolutely jammed on that occasion. This visit however, was a lot calmer and quieter and much the better for that! We had just missed the three course early bird meal... read more

A Tuesday night at ice station zebra aka Upper Cumberworth. Prodigal son turns up with his mate. Let's go to? Debate about the merits of the local hostelries. Let's go up to the Foxhouse - not been for a while. Off we trot. On arrival the car park is virtually empty as an icy blast greets you - don't customers... More

Called for a meal early on a Friday evening. Cracking pint of real ale from the Two Roses Brewery. Having being over faced having a starter last time we just ordered a main course. The farmhouse grill was tremendous and my wife had rib eye which was wonderfully succulent and tasty.

I came here with family for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago and we all enjoyed some deliious home-cooked food. I opted for the brocolli and stilton pie with homemade chips and a side of beer-battered onion rings, all of which tasted superb. The desserts in the display looked amazing but we were just too full from the generous... More

We had Sunday lunch for the first time at the Fox House pub and restaurant on 15th February. Customers can dine in the formal restaurant area or the pub. The atmosphere was great ! This is clearly a very popular choice with so many people as it was full. It has warm, cosy, traditional pub decor, friendly, welcoming staff and... More

We decided to visit this restaurant after a recommendation, we were not disappointed. The food was very good, gorgeous home made chips and my mousaka was the best i've ever had, the chef is Greek though. Brilliant service in a great old pub.

I've been here several times and the standard has been consistent; in fact the ambience, food, service (and selection of real ales) has steadily improved. The variety on offer in the menu, and on the daily specials is impressive (even several choices for vegetarians; thanks for that!). The food is not excellent, but it is good and the portions are... Attended with my wife recently. The establishment is large and well presented, with a nice bar area and seperate restaraunt. We eat in the bar. The menu is quite varied. We chose the ribs/onion rings/chicken goujon starter, followed by a texan burger for me and lasagne for my wife. The starter was ok, goujons were nice (could have done with... More

Four friends meetng for lunch. The ambience of the inn was very good, service was friendly and quick but the food left a bit to be desired. My mixed grill was very mixed, that is mixed, good and bad. Some of the ingredients were overcooked, some done to death and some OK, however it must be said that it was... More

When you think of a country pub with good hearty food the Fox House should be the Yard stick that others are compared to. I have had the Burgers which are hand pressed and amazing as well as the Steak pie which was massive and stuffed full of meat. The staff are so helpful we went with friends who have... More
