Husband and I went on a Tuesday evening. It was busier than expected and the lady behind the bar was juggling a number of roles - but doing it with a smile and no fuss! We had ribeye steak and steak and ale pie - both were lovely. Well cooked, hot and super tasty! Lovely puddings and good beer too!... More

I don't live far from here and am a regular walker round the village due to the fantastic landscape and great walks, especially around the nearby reservoirs. Now, you may not know, but adjoining the pub is a lovely little village shop, selling fresh fruit and veg and great local produce. The Fleece shop also sells teas and coffees, including... More

Others three quarters empty and told a wait of 1hr 30 mins! Others just so full an no tables, We had passed The... More

What an amazing night. Five of us arrived for the final night of our week in Holmfirth, expecting a good pub dinner. The landlord and his lovely staff greeted us with the news it was PIE NIGHT, presented a menu with at least five sumptuous-sounding pies then, to add to our joy, asked if we'd be interested in the weekly... I came here for the first time last month and had a really enjoyable sunday lunch. My starter of wild mushroom and thyme soup was very tasty, although I was a little envious when I saw the baked camembert and the pate come out as they looked absolutely beautiful - I'll have to try one of them next time! My... More

We went on pie night and had fish bake with chips and vegetables - huge portions and very tasty. Good value at £13.95 including the first drink. Would definitely go again - comfortable and welcoming.

Love the Fleece, Great atmosphere. The food is lovely and reasonable priced. Had quite a few Sunday roasts among other dishes on the menu and they've all been lovely. All the staff are really friendly. On our last visit we took our daughter with us who has a broken leg she has a frame on the lower half of her... More
