Went to the Fleece in Holme Village for our Wedding anniversary. Went at dinner time so slightly different menu to the evening one but still a great choice from the menu and specials board, also a good choice for my wife who's a vegetarian. Pleasant staff behind the bar and waiting on, checked we were ok once our food had... More

We recently visited the Fleece for my partners birthday. He found the pubs website and decided from the lovely menu that we would pay a visit. The only disappointing factor was that the menu advertised on the website no longer exists, which was the reason we booked it in the first place. Not that we were disappointed with the food... More

Great little addition to the pub next-door. We enjoyed a cup of tea and cookie in the sunshine and had a good chat with friendly passers-by. The pies and pastries in the shop looked delicious and the village itself nestled in the most amazing countryside. Don't pass the pantry by if its too early for refreshments in the pub.

Went for a meal 13/8/14 i must say having looked at a few reviews and the fish and prawns was a little bland as the other reviews have said but i had the beef bouguignon which was outstanding my daughter had heard of the belly pork which wasn't on the menu due to it being curry night i asked if... Very average food. Cod with cheese sauce and prawns was dry and looked as if it had been microwaved. Lamb Tagine very sweet little spice and less Lamb. Prices for this standard of food vastly overpriced. Two of our party had Steak frite which was about a dozen chips and a small piece of steak about 3 '' square if... More

Was recommended to this pub restaurant, went for Saturday lunch , The guy who I took to be the landlord seemed to have a competition going on to see how few words he could speak, actually asked what I wanted by lifting his eyebrows, I did see him laughing and smiling with some one else later so maybe it's just... I just nipped in for a quick snack this evening: pesto, cheese and tomato bruschetta, and a couple of glasses of wine - but will definitely return next time I'm visiting the area, and sample the menu more extensively. Both bruschetta and wine were excellent (quarter-bottles of wine are often disappointing, but not so this Argentian Malbec). The service was... More

I go the Fleece every month or so as it's an excellent pub restaurant and I've enjoyed plenty of lunches and dinners there. The 'fish platter' lunch which I and my two friends all chose this week surpassed anything I've ever had there before. Well done Chef! The specials board is always worth checking out, even though the regular menu... More

The Fleece is a fantastic pub. The landlady and her team have done an amazing job in creating a warm, welcoming pub which although busy, manages to still feel 'villagey'. The Sunday lunches are becoming stuff of legend in these parts! ** Please be aware that the pub closes at 6pm on a Sunday ... We had my daughters 21st... More

Found this gem of a place whilst having a brief stay at camping and caravanning club site in crowden. The only reason we haven't give full marks is because unusual for that part of country it was really hot and humid and we couldn't open windows so were very hot and had to fan ourselves with menu! Otherwise, fantastic well cooked... More
