Visited for the first time recently for a celebration. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere, decoration and location. I had a pasta dish which I wasn't overly impressed with but others in my group seemed happy with their choices. Service was excellent - prompt and friendly. Will probably go again and choose something other than pasta!

Have dined here several times over the past year and never fails to please! The food is wholesome, well cooked and presented. The staff are courteous and friendly and very helpful. Shirley, the owner is a delight. Friendly and welcoming with a fine table manner. Keep up the good work Shirley!! Mike and Sue (Sunnybank)

Been meaning to review the Fleece for a while as it always delivers excellent food, friendly service and well kept beer in a good village pub. Great base for walking in the local hills / valley's. The roasts / curries and pies stand out, all is homemade and you can tell. Worth a detour but always busy so book ahead.... More

Excellent meal tonight. I've eaten at the Fleece maybe four or five times now and I'd say the quality is generally getting better each time. The steak and ale pie is as good as I've had anywhere, but on my latest visit I decided to have the gamekeeper's cobbler, which was a beautifully rich casserole of pigeon, pheasant and rabbit... Having passed this inn many times but never been in we decided to try it one evening after a day out in the area. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the place itself has a warm and cosy atmosphere with a real fire to combat the cold damp weather we had at the time of our visit . The... More

Nice ambience there after a walk. Friendly staff. Good sizes good. Some veggie options - seemed expensive for what they were. Pea and pesto soup and the halloumi salad very tasty.

Having visited this pub yesterday afternoon (27th September) I came home and read the reviews. I always start with the negative ones and here you will find some exceptional ones but the best of all is the one that gave it a terrible review without actually entering the pub. They based there review solely on the plastic flowers outside. Another... More
