Small Meal at Big Price

Just been for Sunday lunch was very disappointed considering this was £12.95. When our meal arrived only one had mashed potato so I politely asked the waiter to bring me some. He went away and never returned. A small dish of veg arrived and this was to share between two of us which equated to about... read more

We called in here just for a drink and to get warm after walking over the moors. We had sandwiches of our own so didn't eat. The food looked great though and there was lots of choice. Next time we won't bother with our own ! The atmosphere was superb and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely return.

Just enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Fleece with my family. Great atmosphere and the food was delicious and plenty of it. The service was a bit slow but that was probably due to an enormous group of walkers coming in. We will definetly return again soon.

Visited for the first time recently for a celebration. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere, decoration and location. I had a pasta dish which I wasn't overly impressed with but others in my group seemed happy with their choices. Service was excellent - prompt and friendly. Will probably go again and choose something other than pasta!

Been meaning to review the Fleece for a while as it always delivers excellent food, friendly service and well kept beer in a good village pub. Great base for walking in the local hills / valley's. The roasts / curries and pies stand out, all is homemade and you can tell. Worth a detour but always busy so book ahead.... More

Excellent meal tonight. I've eaten at the Fleece maybe four or five times now and I'd say the quality is generally getting better each time. The steak and ale pie is as good as I've had anywhere, but on my latest visit I decided to have the gamekeeper's cobbler, which was a beautifully rich casserole of pigeon, pheasant and rabbit... Having passed this inn many times but never been in we decided to try it one evening after a day out in the area. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the place itself has a warm and cosy atmosphere with a real fire to combat the cold damp weather we had at the time of our visit . The... More
