Excellent choice for supper

We went on pie night and had fish bake with chips and vegetables - huge portions and very tasty. Good value at £13.95 including the first drink. Would definitely go again - comfortable and welcoming.

Love the Fleece, Great atmosphere. The food is lovely and reasonable priced. Had quite a few Sunday roasts among other dishes on the menu and they've all been lovely. All the staff are really friendly. On our last visit we took our daughter with us who has a broken leg she has a frame on the lower half of her... More

Well what a treat. I'm staying in Huddersfield for a couple of nights and a friend brought me out to the Fleece for dinner to experience a traditional country pub. Now, to be fair, I don't have anything to compare it with but what a lovely experience. The first amazing surprise was the size of the vegetarian menu - I... More

I've been going to The Fleece for many years (see below for why) as I live reasonably nearby (5 miles away) so I know what's good and what's not so good in the general locality. The Fleece is an excellent pub and extremely well run. It's always been good, even before the current management. Great food, great choice, great service... More

Lovely Sunday meal, generous portions and friendly staff make this a great place for a meal, our little girl loved the myriad of furry stuffed toys and the adventure playgrounds at the back and just around the corner.

My partner Pat and I were touring the Peak District and Pennine areas when we turned off the Woodhead Pass and headed towards Holmfirth. The Fleece looked a nice place to stop for lunch and our choice to stop here was well chosen. It also had an adjoining shop. It was a nice pub with obliging and friendly staff, a... More

We had a splendid meal here on 4th April after a pleasant walk up near Digley Reservoir. There were 10 of us with differing tastes and, indeed, we ordered just about everything on the menu. The food was excellent, with ample quantity. Do try the scallops (on the specials menu) and also the calves' liver. Yum yum. There was also... More

Was taken here on Mothers Day. There was an extra 3 people in our party and they organised the seating that we could all be together. The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was electric. It was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend The Fleece
