Vastly improved place

I've been visiting for a meal and/or a drink for 30 years or more. Always seemed a badly laid out and rather gloomy eating and dining area. Had a cream tea today here. Served lovely. Loads of proper Cornish cream. Scones were lovely and warm. Our tea came in a teapot with milk in a milk jug. Totally correctly served. Lemon drizzle cake so light and fluffy. Waitresses so helpful and polite. Will definitely return. Thankyou

Now it's been transformed into a really welcoming, well-planned, attractive restaurant/bar/coffeehouse with pleasant outdoor area and good food/drink at reasonable prices. Probably now my favourite place for a coffee in Holmfirth.

Went here with another couple for evening meal. Ordered the pie which is about the size of a football!!! Not as difficult to eat as you might think as the delicious pastry formed a dome and inside is your meat potatoes and vegetables all perfectly cooked and in a tasty gravy. Won't go into my friends sausage and "GIANT" Yorkshire... More

We wandered around Holmfirth looking for somewhere to have our evening meal and The Old. Bridge Hotel looked so inviting on a cold evening. The menu was posted in the porch, which I find helpful for deciding whether to go in or not. Dishes were plentiful and varied and not the usual pub grub. Presentation was stunning. I had a... More

We stopped here for coffee and a cake to walk up after a pleasant visit to Holmfirth Vineyard. It was lovely and warm, and the atmosphere was nice. The restaurant looked stunning, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The cake and coffee that we did actually sample were great, lots of choice and reasonably priced

This is the second time I've been here for food, the first time being with friends and both times we have enjoyed the food. This time we took our 11 month old for the mothers day special and had smoked mackerel and trout, my partner had the baked brie which was home baked both amazing. For mains we both had... More

Holmfirth in general is difficult to find a parking space, so it took us a few drives around to find somewhere. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff and seated. The table we were given felt very sticky but this seemed to be due to the varnish rather than it not being clean. There was a good choice on... More

Been here lots of times both before it's renovation and after. The decor is much better now, modern but still warm and cosy. The food is still yummy, but the prices have increased-which I feel the need to point out is to be expected! We don't mind paying the little extra because the food is always great. And I'm a...
