Good food and good service

I visited the Old Bridge Inn with my husband in July 2015. We were going to a gig next door at the Picturedrome which was sold out and the pub was heaving. I thought the staff handled the volume of customers admirably and service was friendly and fairly quick. We both had burgers which were... read more

Called off on 23 July 2015 for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. Restaurant was pretty busy for midweek which is always a good sign. Clean comfortable establishment with plenty of places to sit (outside or inside). Ordered a couple of sandwiches on baguettes (salmon and hot beef) along with two lattes. The baguettes when they arrived were... More

Food was lovely I had a ploughmans but for £12 I expected more than 3 lumps of the same cheese a scotchegg and some bread. The 'pickles' were onions and Branston. Would return but choose something else.

We had the fish and chips which were the best fish and batter weve ever had. The breakfasts were delicious too. Stayed here and we understand the bar and restaurant has just been refurbished but the hotel rooms do need sorting as the extractor fans have been taken out the bathrooms leaving just a hole in the ceiling and the... I have been here a few times in the last two years since they refurbished. I have had three meals out of seven that were decent. They were the Hippy Burger and the vegetarian shepherds pie, oh and the super salad was good, but very dull dressing. I think if the dishes were a few pounds less, you would be... More

Popped in for a couple of pints pre concert. I asked to try an ale - chap behind bar didn't seem very impressed with this and the sample I was given wasn't worth dirtying the glass! We left after one pint......Most expensive pub in area we visited - try The Nook - friendlier staff and cheaper ale.....

I wish I'd had internet connectivity when trying to find a place to enjoy a dinner in Holmfirth. I would have avoided this place if I could have checked Tripadvisor. The food was poor--my wife, for instance, ordered breaded shrimp and was served frozen shrimp nuggets, probably from a shady factory in Thailand. Really? More than £10 for frozen shrimp... More

The food is very overpriced for what you get, my wifes ploughmans lunch for £12 consists of cheese, a scotch egg , 3 bits of dry bread a few small onions and a small pot of pickle and some salad leaves and not very appetising either.i had the dirty burger, nothing fancy just a cheese burger with an egg on top...
