We are a traditional Country Inn located 3/4 of a mile from Ingleton and just 6 miles away from Kirkby Lonsdale. We have 10 guest bedrooms, two of which have four poster beds, one twin bedroom and one family bedroom, the rest are double bedrooms. We are ideally located for the those doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks or visiting the White Scar Caves and Ingleton Waterfalls. All of our food is prepared freshly on site to order and we use locally sourced suppliers. For those Ale drinkers we have 8 Cask Ale hand pulls, which during the busy season we try and have all 8 on. During the quieter months this is not always possible. For those winter months we have two roaring log burning stoves in the bar and for the Summer months we have two lovely beer gardens, one out the front of the hotel looking over St Oswalds Church and one out the back looking over open fields. For the best available rates please look at the hotel website.

Friendly pub

Recently had an enjoyable evening at the Marton Arms. Food was decent pub grub and the range of drinks on offer was comprehensive. We found the staff to be friendly and customer focused.

Friendly pub with a log burner roaring away and the also very friendly pub dog Roxy ready to greet you! Had a very nice steak pie and some good draught beer which was well earned after a day at the waterfalls which is a short walk away

We last dined at the Marton Arms several years ago when it was known for its extensive whisky selection. Our recollection was that the food was very good and it deserved its popularity. Time moves on and the whisky selection is still there but much reduced in scale. We returned in off-season March with fewer diners, mainly locals and just... More

The food at the Marton arms is best described as a middle ground between pub + gastropub / bistro quality and the price is reasonable for what you get. The starters we had were delicious but the mains fell a little short. The duck did not have a great skin on it and it was slightly overcooked. The mash was... More

On arrival to this fantastic location and to an inn we have previously visited with such aquaint appearance, we were distrsught to find it so uninviting, cold dowdy dreary, unatmospheric. The pictures on the web bore no resemblance, a beautiful old country inn offering accomadation bearing no comfy seating stripped of character filled with pine tables and benches. The bar... More

We know one or two pubs in the Ingleton area and were heading for one of these when we decided on impulse to follow a sign to the Marton Arms in the village of Thornton in Lonsdale. And we were very glad that we did. The pub is a typical northern village inn (next to the impressive church) and was... More

Well worth a visit but I would recommend reserving a table in advance. Dogs are welcome. A very traditional old pub built in 1679. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. We ordered the steak and ale pie and for the children, we ordered pizza and chips. The pie was perfect and definitely home-made. It was very... More

This is an amazing pub with fantastic food. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. We are regular visitors to the area and always visit the pub. It's decor is smart it's staff welcoming and food amazing. Try it and you will not be disappointed.

Gorgeous old pub (1679) great food and real ale. We walked here from a local guest house but be warned, walking there was fine but coming back it is completely pitch black as there are no lamp posts, so take a torch. But this actually really adds to the charm because if you turn the torches off and look up... More
