A super range of ales and draught cider/lagers. Very friendly staff. We were thinking of eating there later and looked at the menu but the prices were a little more than similar places in the small town. Folk were eating so it is obviously popular.

I found the experience worthwhile and a pleasant experience. We went in for a drink and to get out of the rain. The fire was lit amd people around where having food, which looked appealing and seemed reasonably priced, when looking at the menu. The outside seating area on review seemed good, and had a great view over the dales.... More

There is a selection of real ales here and a huge warming fire for a cold day. (If walkers don't snaffle it to dry their coats on) However the baguette was over priced and when it came (after a very long wait of 30 minutes) was served with cold chips. In addition it was actually only half a baguette so... More

My wife and I had lunch in mid September, it looks grand on the outside but unfortunately that's it, its obviously a hard working and busy place, too busy even to be tidied and brightened up a bit. The gloomy décor and furniture looks worn and needs replacing as well, anyway we decided to stick it out and try the... More

Tuesday night and hungry in Leyburn, the Bolton Arms caught our eye with its solid stone tastefully lit frontage. We went in. Aaaarrrgh. The pub is in two halves with a central island type bar. The front half is where you can eat drink and socialise and the back is where the big screen is. The front half is desperately... More

Yet again I found myself at the Bolton Arms in Leyburn. The choice of places to eat in Leyburn is not great and the opening hours of so many of them seem determined to deter customers, so the Bolton Arms again. Every time we walk in here I get the impression that we are not welcome. The locals dominate, take... More
