beautiful interiors but not cheap

Went for a drink while staying in Helmsley. Beautifully decorated, very smart. small bar area that anyone can have a drink in. I opted for a cocktail which was nice but expensive. £9.50 for a standard sized Mojito

My wife and I called in here with a friend when we were visiting the area on 30th June 15. This place was recommended by our friend who visited the place many years ago. The place is nicely decorated inside and has obviously been recently renovated. Sadly, this is where the positives end. My wife ordered a cup of ginseng... More

We visited the Tea Room for an Afternoon Tea which we had been given as gift. There was a choice of sandwiches along with 3 cakes each and 4 scones with jam & cream, these were all excellent. The service was also very good which made for an enjoyable experience.

Visited toda, what a great find. I visited the tea room and being a big fan of tea was impressed with the choice of loose leaf teas. To accompany the tea there is a great selection of cakes, I found it hard to decide on one as they all looked so delicious. I certainly wasn't disappointed in the one I... More

We recently visited the Black Swan in Helmsley and decided to have the afternoon tea and we were not disappointed it is £19.95 per person but well worth it you get 4 different kinds of sandwiches, warm fruit scones served with butter jam and clotted cream and also you get 4 mini cakes and plenty of your choice of teas... If you are looking for a proper traditional afternoon tea - this is the place to go. The setting of the tea room is beautiful. Fantastic knowledgable staff, wonderful service and so much cake! So much that we could not finish it all but the staff kindly boxed it up for us to take home. I have had afternoon tea... More

We are very local and have eaten at most establishments in the area several times however it was 25 years since we last ate here. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed all of it. £55. The bread was also very good and we had to stop ourselves filling up on this. The tasting menu included scallops, fois gras, lamb... More

Dined here with my partner and have to say has to be one of the nicest dining experiences I've had in a long while. i chose dishes from the A La Carte menu whereas my partner dined from The Gallery menu, a supposed 'simpler' version of the A La Carte menu yet presented to exactly the same high standards and... Went for a meal with friends. Chose from the reduced a la carte option - really great food and excellent service. I have a couple of food intolerances so only one of the desserts was suitable, however, the chef had conjured up something special just for me!!!
