We stayed in the Junior Suite and really liked the room. It had a small sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, very cosy and characterful. The bedroom looked out over the market square and the sitting room looked out over the church grounds. The bar area is very cosy with open fires and always busy with locals coming in as well... We visited the Tea Room last New Years Day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so we booked a table again for this New Years Day. Staff all very friendly on arrival and we were shown to our table that had been reserved for us. Ordered an Espresso and Tea to start with, best coffee i've had for a long time!... More

This is a great tearoom in a pleasant setting. Staff are efficient and very pleasant. The tea is very good and the fruit scones with jam and cream are lovely. Portions of butter, jam and cream are generous, dieters beware!

This is the second time this month my wife and I have been here. The service is very good attentive without being overbearing. On our first visit my wife had a coughing fit whist we were waiting for the meal to be served. One of the waiting staff brought her a glass of water without being asked. This was a... More

What purported to be Welsh rarebit with Bacon turned out to be a pasty mustard roux with a tasteless dried-out slice of bacon. Barely edible. This cost an outrageous £8.50. Together with 1 pint of Black Sheep, a Medium sized white wine spritzer and a plain egg sandwich, the bill came to an eye-watering £28.50, excluding service. The most expensive... More

very busy tearoom, yet tables spaced well apart ensuring stress free experience. The service was very prompt and efficient, choice of cakes was limited, however the quality and taste was top class. The facilities were very clean, I felt they let themselves down very badly by housing wrapped, but uncooked, salmon in the same showcase as the cakes.

We visited the Black Swan on a Saturday evening and left very disappointed. It was very stuffy in the restaurant, although the atmosphere in the Cygnet bar was very nice. We found the menu to be very limited although the head waiter did try to help by offering an alternative to the mashed potato served with the fillet of beef... More
