Fabulous

We travelled with our puppy and chose the Black Swan. because it was dog friendly. Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Superb customer service, fabulous ambiance, outstanding food and situated in a picture perfect Yorkshire market town . Highly recommend a stay here with or without a dog.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for the best Afternoon Tea experience my mum and I have ever had. We visited today at 12pm for a booking and although I was bringing my 2 young daughters one aged 2 & the other 3 this was not a problem and in fact the staff were fantastic... More

Relatively local and went out for a walk around Helmsley at the weekend. After our walk we opted for a quick pub lunch, went for the black swan as we were with dog and it is dog friendly. Only ordered a quick sandwich so cannot comment too much on the food/service but what we did experience cannot be faulted. We... More

I have not been to Helmsley for many years and decided to pay a visit with a friend. We had a wander rind and then decided to have lunch at the a Black Swan. We entered via the main entrance and opted for the bar. There as a lovely welcoming real log fire and the young lady that looked after... More

Gorgeous food for a special occasion. We went for the 3 course a la carte menu and found the starters and mains really great. The choice for deserts was a little disappointing but brilliant cheese choices.

We chose the Black Swan after looking around all the eateries around the market square in Helmsley. We had thought that most restaurants on a damp Thursday evening in March would be easy to book into, but this wasn't the case. The Black Swan was very busy (as was The Feathers) and it was easy to see why. The staff... More

We were a group of six for lunch. The table was immaculately prepared for us, and when seated the mothers were all given a lovely gift. The service was good, with friendly, helpful staff. There was enough choice on the menu to enable all of us to select something we liked. The food was tasty and we'll presented and the... More

Had a fantastic weekend stay with family, although the rooms are maybe a little dated (it maybe adds to the charm) the food on the evening was exquisite, staff very attentive, which made for an all together pleasurable stay.

We ate in the smart bar area during a short break in Helmsley. Good well-presented food. Efficient attentive service, even presented our dog with a bowl of iced water!
