Visited here today and had the special. 5oz fish, chips and mushy peas (Yorkshire caviar!). Cooked from fresh and served piping hot. Excellent value.

My husband and I are huge fish and chip fans and was looking for a new restaurant to try out. I came across Scott's on trip advisor and we decided to visit, and we'll be going back. The food was absolutely gorgeous and reasonably priced. The fish was cooked beautifully!

Bank holiday monday...My friend and I could see countless people eating fish and chips. We had travelled from York and were not actually very hungry but we were drawn to Scotts. To be honest we decided to walk off after seeing the queue but a family left the huddle with a box of fish and chips and we decided to... More

Hi Jess, Wow, what comments. Chef Shane and the whole team worked really hard on Bank Holiday Monday and we're really pleased you noticed some of the small detail things we are trying to achieve. York isn't that far away, so come back soon. Regards Tony More

The fish was a really good size and tasted superb, and the chips were cooked to perfection. They were accompanied with really tasty Tartare sauce and mushy peas . I thought the meal was really good value for money and much nicer than the Magpie cafe at Whitby. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the service was excellent . This was... More

We visited Scotts of Helmsley for the second time during the May Bank Hol weekend and had a tasty 'fish and chip' meal. The service was efficient and speedy, the food hot and tasty. The only thing I would say is that although the portions were generous, the price was a bit on the steep side. That said, I am... More

Hello and thank you for the comments. Getting the balance between portion size and pricing is a difficult one, particularly as fish is a commodity with market price fluctuations. At Scotts, we are focused on providing value across the board, with quality and service thrown in. We have noted your comments and will discuss internally. Thanks again. Regards Tony More

My mum and I stopped for a fish and chip takeaway, just expecting a basic fish and chips. The chips were lovely and the fishcakes that we both had was absolutely delicious. It had white fish and salmon mixed with herbs. It was very fresh and not too greasy - perfect. Thanks for a great experience to top off a... More

This Restaurant has the lightest batter I have ever come across, cooked to perfection and the fish so white it is dazzling. We were in Helmsley over the Easter bank holiday weekend and called on Easter Sunday towards the end of the lunch session.
