The Feathers hotel is situated on the market square in Helmsley on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. This country inn offers a delightful mix of historic charm and Yorkshire hospitality with high standard of cuisine and modern standards. Its 23 bedrooms have all been recently refurbished. The hotel has an excellent local reputation for good food and fine ales. The Pickwick Bar with its low ceilings and open fire boasts a bar which is the longest piece of work created by Robert Thompson, famous for his Mouseman furniture. Bar meals are served in the cosy Feversham Bar using the very best local produce, the restaurant serves good English food both at lunchtime and in the evening. There is private parking at the rear of the hotel.

We popped into the Feathers for lunch, and were impressed. My husband's ploughman's lunch was very nicely presented, fresh, and filling. My mushroom soup was delicious. Although the interior appears in need of a good update the food is really good and well priced, and the staff can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable, Well worth a visit and good value!

Was looking forward to a nice lunch in Helmsley After walking around the quaint market square we settled on the feathers. Unfortunately the food really did not come up to our expectations I had the hand made burger it was rather bland In particular the bread roll was stale and the we no onion rings. We have a holiday home in Nawton 3 miles away from Helmsley, The Feathers is our favourite place to eat in the village. Delicious food, good size portions, helpful polite staff. Would highly recommended.

Dont leave Helmsley without going here first. Top class food. Reasonable prices and you get what you pay for. Really nice steak pie with Loads of meat and a short crust pastry lid! Home made chips too ! Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lovely staff lovely setting. A must .

food delicious, lovely old building, welcoming & friendly staff, lovely decor, and if the sun's shining you can sit outside and what the the bikes and classic cars pull up in the square - good place to pass some pleasant time with a pint of Black Sheep!

Had 2 meals here rely big portions had fish and chips one night fish hung over the plate and we only had the standard size sa goodness knows what the large one was.Best to book we would go back
