Junior Suite

We stayed in a junior suite by the pool. It was very spacious and had a very comfy bed. Only downside was it only had velux windows so no view as such. Enjoyed using the jacuzzi and pool although the weather was a little inclement. I had a facial which was quite disappointing and didn't come... read more

WOW WEE never ever fails to impress. The attention to detail is remarkable and so professional and perfect! The drinks we had were perfect, prices but outstandingly gorgeous and tasty and so well presented. The whole atmosphere was a delight and very Christmassy and a real must if you visit Helmsley! The whole atmosphere was first class and see you... More

Enjoyed the evening with friends we hadn't seen for a long while but was not impressed with the Christmas menu selection, nor the food when it came to the table. When we asked for a selection of vegetables these came to the table after we had finished the main meal

Had pre-booked lunch as were told we needed to - as they were very busy We were actually the only people in the restaurant at lunchtime! There was just 1 waitress on duty who was also looking after the lounge and bar - service was therefore very slow - and I had to go and ask her for pre-lunch drinks... More

Second occasion at this the restaurant, I believe the chef has changed since our last visit in 2014 but the high standard remains the same. Opted for game terrine starter and cheese souffle main course - both were beautiful and well presented, The cheese board is a must (which doesnt appear on the menu) - don't skip it !

Absolutly loved my stay here a couple of weeks ago! The staff are one of a kind! A big thank you to paul and laura (resturant staff) for looking after me and my friend.. Unfortunatly we didnt go to the spa as they were fully booked but we had an amazing time in the heated swimming pool. Our room was... More

We escaped family life for a blissful 24 hours and we couldn't have chosen a better place to switch off and enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation. The hotel is just beautiful, with a calm, quiet ambiance, and our evening meal was one of the best we've ever eaten. We'd heartily recommend the Chateau Briande but definitely come with an... More

Could not have been pleasanter. We could barely tear ourselves away from our suite to enjoy the pool and spa. Booked into restaurant for the taster menu which was fabulous with a great drinks menu. Breakfast was fabulous too. We will return. Indeed we recently had a small break elsewhere and it was not as good, wish we'd gone back... More

I haven't visited the spa, not the hotel facilities, but they were wonderful. They are quite small, but there is enough to use so it doesn't feel cramped. The outdoor facilities are great and the ability to eat whilst lazing by the pool was indulgent! Staff are very helpful and service is faultless.
