A total waste of £500 and a rare child free trip ruined by The Feversham. Rude and incompetent staff, overpriced pretentious food and bedrooms in total need of a refurb. This place relies on its past reputation and people with more money than sense. DO NOT BOTHER - honestly try the Black Swan if your wanting to stay in Hemsley,... More

The cost of drinks are outrageous, yes it is Hemsley But you feel dirty and slightly used. The rooms are nice and well appointed The range of rooms available say " we are expensive Petit doubles” The spa is petit and bijou .

Came here on a stay over and spa package for my wife's 40th birthday. The staff are friendly and hard working. The spa is really good for UK standards, staff working in the spa are superb. Restaurant is pretty good, quality ingredients and some variety in the menu. Extensive wine list for all tastes and most budgets. Stayed in a... More

On 15 December I booked Sunday luncheon for 2 for 18 January. This was a prepaid gift from our daughters (17 and 14) and they had chosen the venue as a result of us having been to and enjoyed the hotel and spa on several occasions previously. We planned to spend the day in and around Helmsley (travelling from Harrogate)... More

Went for a group Sunday lunch which was excellent on all counts especially the personal service we received by designated staff.Exceedingly well priced and wine wasn't ridiculously exorbitant either. The highlight however was being able to use the outdoor pool on the Sunday afternoon and Monday morning since we stayed the night as a treat!

Above all else, it was the restaurant which was the only disappointment here. This was a birthday treat and we'd booked treatments at the spa followed by what should have been a good dining experience in pleasant surroundings. The hotel and spa are lovely and the staff very welcoming and attentive - no problems here. The spa experience was first... More

it was good - the food was good......its just the menu wasnt ! they only served a limited menu on fridays which was restricted to sandwiches and a burger and some risotto. we had the latter two - nice and well presented but hardly memorable nor worth really describing - unlike the great surroundings of the hotel, pool and bar.... Stayed here before a few years ago and was really looking forward to going back, but haveto say we were disappointed. I think they have become a little complacent with the fact that they are a premier hotel in a superb location, when in fact they need to spend some money on maintaining and giving it a little facelift. Outdoor... More

My 3 sisters came to this hotel as part of a package with the Black Swan Hotel. We had the use of the Verbena Spa for the day which included a 1 hour treatment. I was a little disappointed with the Spa, don't get me wrong I thought the therapists and the treatments were fabulous and the girls were very... More
