What a village pub is about

We're made to feel welcome on arrival, the pub was really busy the staff were rushed but still they accommodated us, there was an excellent range of local ales which were brought to our table before I had even seen a menu, I ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection, I was aware the staff were... read more

We called in for an early dinner on our way to London for the weekend. The waitress lacked the customer care, we needed to ask for the menu and again to order our meal. Shame as the pub was fairly empty, we noticed other customers waited to be provided the menu some time after being seated. The meal we enjoyed... More

Been today for a meal with my husband had a great welcome bar staff great and after not booking a table we took our chances and asked if there was a table available after noticing that most tables were reserved the staff were great and found us a table , we both had mushrooms in a garlic and chive sauce... I found the restaurant had a great welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. They advised of events that were happening like the pub quiz which occurs every Thursday night. There is a very full bar and the staff can recommend drinks if you give them an idea of what you like. The parking is just... More

My husband and I eat at the Emmott regularly. The village pub has a very comfortable friendly atmosphere, the choice of food is very good and the standard of cooking and service is excellent. We are also local B&B owners and many of our guests also eat at the Emmott and are full of praise about the friendly welcome and... More

Came here both nights whilst staying nearby at Rye Flatt B& B. This is really good pub food, freshly cooked, with a good choice including daily specials. Very good value for money. The Emmott is family run and it shows, the owners were around and certainly seemed to have their eyes on the ball and all the staff were efficient... More

My third visit and third review, each time my experience warrants a mention on TA. Five people eating Mains and Desserts, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the surroundings. I can again recommend the Belly Pork and Sticky Toffee Pudding. I am sure I will be visiting again even though its 100 miles from home.

Checked with the public house if a table would be available for a group of six people for 6pm the same evening. The response was uncertain as they were expecting a party for 6-30pm. 5.45pm would be preferable, to which we agreed. On entering the pub. at the agreed time, we were given the impression that we were not entirely... More

Having agreed to meet with friends from Harrogate at Boundry Mill we checked Tripadvisor for a suitable dinner venue before making our way home. The Emmott Arms proved to be exactly what we were looking for. Having booked a table we were warmly greeted on arrival and extremely well looked after by the staff and landlord. The menu offered plenty... More
