We are very lucky to live very near to this excellent bar/hotel/restaurant. The bar area feels like a lovely old English pub, with a good selection of draught real ales, lagers and ciders on tap. The staff are friendly, engaging and efficient. We have eaten here a number of times. You won't be disappointed. The summer menu is imaginative and... More

Hi guys, my 5 year old daughter took me out for a belated birthday meal.i had the ribeye which was beautifully cooked she wanted the kiddies pizza which was very tasty as she said. She paid herself out of her pocket money and Andrew and Bev treated her with the courtesy due to any of their older customers. She went... More

This is the only reasonable pub/restaurant in the village but despite good expectations and recommendation the food was extremely poor and overcooked. We didn't return the next night.

The Cockhaven has been sold and has new owners, this was our first visit since the change. It was a beautiful spring day and the conservatory was warm with less tables and more space . The atmosphere was excellent and the service also. The menu has changed but the chefs have not so the food was superb as always .... More

This was always one of our favourite restaurants. However under new owners I do have to say that it us not to the standard as before. The food was over cooked, the presentation was lacking. The service was interfering, no excuse me may I take your plate etc. and the owner who was doing something in the sideboard in the... More

Having lived in the village for a number of years, the menu at the Cockhaven is one of the only things that didn't change. Under new ownership, the food menu has been streamlined and complimented with tempting specials. The food was excellent. Can't knock the quality of cooking, presentation and portion size! Really excited to see how the business develops... More

What an excellent night. We were guests at a dinner dance function for about 100 people, although the bar was very full we got our drinks in time before we were asked to take our seats. The food was excellent with a good choice considering the number they were catering for. The service was first class and nothing was too... More

Had a table booked for valentines night. Turned up and seated all good. Took a drinks order and our food order. The starter arrived within 3 minutes of ordering before out drinks even arrived. To me this isn't great I would prefer waiting a bit really. Both starter and main course was lovely and couldn't complain about either of them.... More
