Having been to this restaurant a few times but not for a few years found it to be as pleasant and relaxing as ever. The menu and the Specials are well thought out and the service was with a smile. It is certainly good value for money and for those who expect an even higher standard should appreciate that you... More

This is the third time my wife and I have been to the Cockhaven manor inn for a meal (Sat 12th July) we were warmly greeted as usual and showed straight away to our table. The food and quality was as usual,up to a very high standard,we both felt full after starters and mains but decided to have a desert sticky... We had heard about this venue from various local sources. Foolishly I had left enquiring for a table for 6 until the day (a Saturday). It was for a birthday celebration. The host very kindly managed to "squeeze" us in. The ambience was perfect, the host very attentive. Food was well presented and represented excellent value for money. All in... More

I love going here. It is always clean and tidy. The staff are out of this world. Perfect in every way. They will laugh and joke with you and still do their job 100% the chefs are amazing at cooking. The owner is very kind and nothing is to much trouble. The food is perfect. I am a single parent... More

My husband and I visited the restaurant tonight as we were on holiday in Devon. For many years we have been meaning to visit Cockhaven Manor for a meal but what a disappointment! On arrival we checked in at the bar where we purchased drinks and were taken to our table. We were placed in the middle of the room... More

Had Sunday Lunch today. Prawn cocktail looked very uninviting , Vegetables poor selection with a terrible sauce. The place needs some TLC before I would want to return. The owners wife took our order most unfriendly person too rushed to even pass the time of day not interested,

This is the first time in over three years that we've been to this restaurant and it is as good as ever. The landlord, Roy, is as welcoming and attentive as he has always been. There is a good range of food, including some unusual but locally sourced meat. The beer is well kept and the ambiance is good. There is... More

Newton Abbot Bowls Club goes to the Cockhaven every year for their presentation dinner after a busy season of bowling. Its great value for money - the food is good, and the service is swift. If you want a good night, with good food and great entertainment - book it.

Visited with my elderly mother for midweek lunch. She had lemon sole which she enjoyed - the veg 'O.k' I ordered the goats cheese and courgette tower and found it horrible - normally I love goats cheese but this tasted foul, and the base crouton had been fried in an unpleasant oil. To be fair when asked if all was... More

Visited on April 25th for a celebratory wedding meal. The food was excellent - the number of choices for each course was huge from traditional to some more unusual dishes. The service was spot on - attentive but not over the top. We were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble ! We would recommend to anyone looking... More
