Walk back in time, you can taste the salt from the sea lapping the shore not far from the door, hear the twang of the locals talking and drinking cider.....you can smell....the drains today phew, a bit of a problem going on.....but sit harbour side with a drink watch the boats and the world go by, sun lowering over the... My friend and I met locals here as well as tourists to the area. We learnt many things and received good recommendations over a few pints of cider. It is a lovely spot, the drinks are good and their sandwiches have a rustic feel but hit the mark.

Don't bother having the £17 steak, like shoe leather. Bar staff attitude was appalling, local customers not very friendly. Waitress staff ok, cannot say the same for the rest of the staff. Wouldn't recommend

Having eaten at the Ship Inn before, I was looking forward to our return visit. The prominent signs warning of drainage problems and the need to flush toilets twice were a bit unsettling as was the warning from the waitress that the kitchen was a "bit backed-up". That was an understatement. We waited an hour and twenty minutes for four... More

On a day trip to Teignmouth we were looking for lunch and came across The Ship Inn. All the tables by the river were full, not at all surprising as the day was sunny and the view was beautiful. I chose a gammon steak with chips or roasted new potatoes. The gammon was good, but the chips ........ they were... More

Situated on the back beach next to the Crab Shack at Teignmouth this little pub is a delight on a sunny evening when you can sit outside and watch the boating world, and all their antics, unfold on the Teign estuary. Good choice of food all freshly cooked. Great place to spend an evening.

We happened to stumble upon the Ship Inn whilst walking in Shaldon. It was a bank holiday and the beer garden and pub were packed. There was a band playing which were good, drinks were fine (although I do hate plastic glasses but I understand the necessity!) - we had a great time. there was a bbq going on but... More

We are lucky enough to live in Teignmouth and whenever friends or family visit we always make sure we take them to The Ship. The views of the estuary looking towards Dartmoor are truly breathtaking and the bar staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. There is nowhere nicer to while away a few hours in the sunshine than sat... More

While the location and variety of Ales available make the Ship Inn initially appealing, the dreadful customer service spoils the experience. We had a dodgy metallic tasting pint which staff out right refused to replace, even when it had barely been touched. Wouldn't visit again.
