Visited this pub for lunch on a Sunday, it's in a great position right by the sea wall. Admittedly there were 8 of us but the food order was mixed up and the mussels which should have been in cream sauce were without the cream as they had run out unfortunately the sauce was tasteless and that spoilt an otherwise... went to the ship for the Friday night fish and chips special, and very good it was too. Proper chips on the side and a huge portion of fish. Service was was very friendly and efficient. Possibly the only down side is the price of the beer which is getting closer to the £4 mark, but I can't fault he... More

How many pubs can you buy a beer and sit outside on the beach. The Ship Inn is an historic traditional pub and I recommend anyone visiting Teignmouth go and have a drink in the Ship. Live music often at the weekends both inside and outside the pub. A nice bar and good food served. Friendly staff and all in... More

My friend and I came in on Friday lunchtime (7th November) having not been in for ages, and were really impressed. We were served at the bar by a really nice chap and the girl who was dealing with the food orders was lovely - really pleasant and friendly. I had cheesy garlic bread with a side order of chips... Tender mussels in tangy chilli-lime dressing in a big hot bowl, with bread to mop up and a finger-bowl to clean up. Only down-side, the waiter was cleaning the beer taps right in front of my seat.

Not the most friendly pub - locals up the bar preventing people from getting served. Eventually got to the bar and asked the equally unfriendly barmaid for drinks and was begrudgingly served while she continued talking to her friend. It has a wide range of beers, but the one I tried was past its best and pretty sour. Couldn't be... More

Lovely food, lovely views, great cheerful staff. Value for money, fresh wholesome food with some special offers. The view is fantastic, and the music they have on is great fun and is also a great place to unwind

When we arrived at The Ship Inn, it was on a very windy and rainy evening but we were given a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. The bar area was heaving and I was a little worried my parents wouldn't like it here but we were shown upstairs to a very spacious dining area which was much more... More

Great choice of beers and ciders. Great location with lots of seating outside with great views over the river estuary. Always busy when the weather is fine. Can't comment on the food as never eaten here but the menu looks good.

Went along on a Friday lunchtime with baby and dog, we were made to feel extremely welcome and suitable table was identified for us. There is a diverse menu and we did not have long to wait. The food was excellent, well presented and cooked. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. What a find.
