I find it hard to list any negatives for our visit to Kota: the staff were wonderful, the food was amazing. The owner and head chef is from New Zealand and he brings a lovely Polynesian twist to the menu, but also includes modern British type dishes as well (My only complaint would be, it would be nice to see... Had the set menu, just the right amount of food and it was delicious. One of the best meals we had in Cornwall. Service was also very good. Watched a guy sitting across from us accidentally set alight to his menu which was hilarious! Would definitely go back.

We ate here on Thursday 4th Sept - the food was delicious and the service attentive. All dishes are cooked to order and beautifully presented. No additional charge made for home made bread or the amuse bouche. Not the cheapest, but worth it. Would definitely recommend.

We visited Kota on a rainy summer's evening and were the first people to arrive, but the restaurant soon filled up. We opted for the 2 courses for £17.50 menu, I had a starter and main course, my wife had main course and dessert, the kids had the childrens menu. There were complimentary amouse bouches, which were ok, but the... More

Had a fantastic meal at Kota. Amuse Bouche excellent, then wonderful home made sage and onion bread followed by a superb Hake main course. Would certainly recommend Kota.

The best meal of my holiday in Porthleven. I had the stuffed courgette flowers to start, hake for the main course and the cheese plate with Cornish Blue, Cornish Brie and Cornish Cheddar to finish. Service was good and every course including the free amuse bouche at the start was delicious. If you're in the area book early as this... More

Based on the reviews, we had high expectations of this restaurant. Descriptions of the food as 'Asian fusion' are not really accurate: this is a somewhat schizophrenic menu, including some very ordinary European dishes, some Malaysian, but nothing exciting or innovative. The wine list was equally disappointing, and the wines by the glass poorly selected. The front of house staff... More
