Having been coming to Porthleven for the last 6 years and having visited all the different and wonderful restaurants this small fishing village has to offer, I can honestly say Kota consistently gives the best food and service of them all. The menu is diverse and wonderful taking the best from locally caught seafood and local farms and presenting a... More

We use Kota for more special occasions. For casual dining we use the sister restaurant Kota Kai. For more special occasions and more fine dining we go to Kota. Service is always first class, very friendly and some great banter. Food is always top draw; never had cause to say a cross word about it.

Visited with my mum and has a truly delightful meal. Every element of each dish had been so carefully thought out. The monkfish was divine, the Japanese hake style fish very interesting and a wonderful strawberry mascarpone dessert. Service was excellent - very friendly and not rushed at all. Recommendations were great and the wine fantastic. Can't wait to return.

We were drawn to Porthleven as we had read about it's culinary emergence in Cornwall. Obviously the TV programme featuring Amelie's restaurant has been great for trade to the harbour itself. My partner and I looked at three restaurants menus around this idyllic little harbour. We looked at Stein's which only had 2 dishes of any visual impact. Normally any... More

Hidden Gem - but not for long!! Apparently the (owner, chef patron) will be appearing on the Great British Menu, well you can see why. This is stunning food, AMAZING, but not pretentious, it blows a celebrity chef owned restaurant nearby out of the harbour. 1week in what they call "Lev" so much choice, but really there is only one... We spent a week in Cornwall and this was simply the best restaurant we visited. The staff were welcoming and warm; nothing seemed to be too much- even to provide a complex wifi password! The pan fried scallops as starter were a treat and the trio of Cornish duck simply delicious. On the pricey side but well worth it.

I was just amazed at the quality of the food, service and ambiance of this small restaurant in Porthleven. If you're hiking the South West Coastal Path, make sure you drop in and take a meal here. (No one will care what you look like!)
