Delightful NYE Dinner

We were offered a 6pm table on New Years Eve and the £55 fixed price menu included a NYE party ticket for an 007/Bond-themed event at the sister restaurant a stone's throw away. Pretty hard to fault really. From front of house through to food and atmosphere, top quality, not at all pretentious, friendly service with a big smile. I had mussels as a starter which were probably the best I have ever had - plump soft and in a very tasty broth. Followed this with duck 3 ways which was superb. We... More

It is important not to confuse Kota Restaurant with Kota Kai, which is only a few metres up the road. Both are good but they are quite different. Whilst Kota Kai is cheap, cheerful and ideal for families, Kota Restaurant is a "fine dining" establishment. On entering, the first impression was of a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The service... More

We have eaten in many restaurants around the world and we must say this was the best meal we've ever had. Nothing about it was prententious, just beautiful to eat. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff. We can't recommend it highly enough.

The menu just keeps getting better here as does the service. A great team and inventive cooking - this time my main was something like crab in squid ink ravioli with hake wrapped in seaweed all served in a dashi broth (I can't remember exactly!) and it was out of this world.

if you're in Porthleven, don't miss dining here. This is a lovely family run restaurant that serves fantastic food. Comparable to a Michelin starred restaurant. I had the scallops to start, duck for main (cooked three different ways) and chocolate fondant with green tea ice cream for dessert. The menu has an Asian influence which make the dishes interesting.
