Best meal I have had for a long while

We are local and eat here from time to time-not as often as we should! The food was amazing. Crab tian with gazpacho and Bloody Mary sorbet was divine, followed by lobster. Great wine list. What more could one ask for on a Friday evening?

fabulous choice across a la carte menu and wanted to try eerything. Dined with friends and we all choose something differant so were able to see and smell - and even taste bits from each plate. We booked this on the Friday for the following wek as it does get busy and we got a lovely round table in the... More

Visited Kota on Thursday evening and wow what can I say. It is absolutely beautiful! Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. I had scallops to start, half a lobster main and dark chocolate fondant to finish....all were amazing and very flavorsome. Staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Will definitely visit again when we are next... More

Went to Kota last year and had a brilliant experience - how nice it is to go back to a place and find it is just as good. The waiting team were all excellent - friendly, professional, informative and knowledgeable - and the food was amazing - inventive, cooked perfectly, presented beautifully and a joy to eat. Come here rather... More

Ate here with parents and family for anniversary meal. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. It is on the expensive side but still excellent value for the quality of the meal and service, Highly recommended

This restaurant has a superb reputation and we were not disappointed. The seafood would be a must for any visitor. Porthleven has may good restaurants and Kota is one that stands out. I can understand why people go back again and again.

We are in Cornwall usually three times a year. We always travel to Porthleven to eat at Kota wherever we are staying. Quite simply the cooking is a cut above anything around there by a long way. The a la carte is impressive and well priced, but try the early evening fixed price menu for even better value. A culinary... More

This was my first visit, I hadn't booked a table as it was a last minute decision, but went in on the off chance and luckily they could fit me in! It is a beautiful dining room and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. I struggled to decide what to eat as everything on the menu sounded great. I finally... More

Have been here once before a few years ago and it was absolutely superb, so was really looking forward to going again..... but it was a bit of a let down. Average food, at best, and very over-priced for what it was - it wasn't cheap when we went before but was good value for the excellent food that time... More
