We ate here, whilst staying in the Hotel. The food was dreadful. My cousin's tiny crab starter had almost as much shell as crab, my beef main course was a very small amount of beef shavings served cold with a bland sauce that bore no resemblance to its description on the menu. The service was just nowhere near the standard... More

Expect a warm welcome, professional service and creative dining. Finally look forward to a stunning view over the beautiful little fishing village of Llafranc. We ordered a 70 euro tasting menu with about 8-9 small courses. We liked most of the courses but found a few were, for us, overly creative. For example they brought us a sour cherry soup... More

Like some of the other reviews we have also eaten in some of the best Michelin starred restaurants and were very disappointed with the food and service here. Location is superb and we had the best table in the house overlooking the bay. This was nice but unfortunately it didn't make up for the lack of imagination in the end... More

The place to eat on the costa brava, service quality, food quality, and wine selection superb, you have to try it at least once every year. This year was my 18th visit and was the best yet!

Since gaining the Michelin star the food has gone steadily downhill. The raw skate salad was awful and 16.50 euros for what could only amount to a couple of teaspoons of crab was excessive. We have eaten at many 1 and 2 star restaurants and sadly this doesn't compare - perhaps the star is for the setting and view!

My girlfriend and I have been lucky enough to eat at Michelin star restaurants all over Europe. I don't know how Restaurant Casamar received one. Perhaps it was the modern infatuation with dry ice. It could have been the sea foam with soup, but it certainly wasn't the deep fried in an 'oven' fish. We opted for the smaller, local... More

We recently lunched at Casamar and had a simply wonderful time. We found the service to be excellent, the maître d' deserves a special mention as she couldn't do enough for us, including looking into getting a boat to take us home. Also testament to the quality of service upon ordering the 7 course tasting menu they offered an alternative... More

A place to avoid. We tried the tasting menu. Experimental - yes. Good food - in no way. The worst dish was a soggy fish dish, which I think was the one who gave two out of three a food poisoning. Also, very snorky service. Especially from the sommelier.

We we here as two families with small kids, a bit worried that we would not fit in.However, the service was fantastic, towards kids as well as adults. We shared one of the Lunch tasting menues and had some unforgettable starters. The wine list is more than decent, and we were impressed with one of the local wines recommended by... More

We had the new lunch summer tasting menu. We had tried to book for Dinner but they had no reservations and we could only get a booking for lunch. We had an amazing table over looking the sea, with spectacular views. We asked the sommelier to match our tasting menu with some local wine recommendations. ( all reasonably priced) It... More
