Great local meal in friendly surroundings

We had a very good meal here on a Sunday evening. The owner, I presume from other reviews, was welcoming and helpful. We went with a big salad to start and chickpea stew. Both were delicious and filling on top of the dips that came with the bread. So slightly regretted not sharing a main, but... read more

I was there with local friends and I am thankful for this discovery. The restaurant is located in a well maintained canarian house, warm and genuine; Menu is traditionally Canarian, with several starters to try: their Almogrote was good, grilled cheese was amazing (Queso Asado). Best thing had been surely fresh desserts: Huevo Molle was delicious! The owner that served... More

Several years, when we are have a holiday in Tenerife, we visit this very cosy restaurant. By now we know the 'cocinera' and 'El patron' rather well. Both are so frendly and they serve fabulous typical food. Reasonable prices and good choice of wines.

We ate here twice. It was delightful - free of all pretension, but clearly used by local people. We were able to try a number of different local dishes. Helpings were more than enough for us and the range was good. Some of the food was not quite as we expected, such as a sweet black pudding, but that is... More

We were staying in San Miguel de Abona for a week and had been looking forward to eating here having read the very positive reviews and seen the sample menus on their website. We visited on Wednesday 4 February. When we arrived we were shown to a table upstairs, sitting down carefully to avoid banging my head on the overhead... More

I'd read about this restaurant before we left the UK for our week's holiday at Finca Vista Bonita, a lovely place to stay just above San Miguel. We'd had the perhaps naïve idea last Sunday that we might escape the clouds if we went up to Vilaflor and up to the Parador near El Teide. Bad idea... it was 3C... More

This is a very small eating place -- only seven tables --- so we booked for Sunday lunch -- only to discover that ,apart from one family , we were the only ones there ! The owner is very pleasant and guided us through the menu. We chose all of the house special " piquitos" and were not disappointed. We... More

My wife was recommended this restaurant by a local hairdresser and we weren't disappointed. What I would say though is walk to this restaurant rather than drive, as with the narrow streets and one way system in San Miguel it makes it hard to get to be car. The restaurant itself is very rustic, with terracotta tiles on the inside... More

This place is small, so get in early. It's quirky, the food is AMAZING and very good value for money. Black pudding croquettes are to die for (although you don't really need a starter per se as the 'cover charge' bread and beans are divine) then we had a rabbit and a goat dish... both were sensational. Just go!

As we travelled the whole day we decided for an exceptional early dinner and La Tasquita was fortunately open early and already busy at 19.15 hours (just after we entered all tables were occupied). We enjoyed a nice dinner with fish croquetes, rabbit in salmorejo sauce, a chickpea stew (garbanza) and for desert small fried dough balls coated with chocolate... More
