Traditional restaurant serving individually cooked meals. Ramon, Ernesto and Mimon made us feel really welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them even when we requested food that was not on the menu. This restaurant is noted for its varied menu. Its meat menu is comprehensive, from simple steaks to chautabrian. Always cooked to your requirement. Situated a little inland it nevertheless has a simple atmosphere.

Owner is one of the nicest men on the island...a real gent. Went to the el gaitero early may with the family, the place was totally empty as where most the other restaurants, plates and cutlery where not clean and very old looking, same old menu and poorly done. most is microwaved/frozen foods you can just taste it, and fair enough if you do ask they are honest and admit its frozen,... Great food, amazing service and the chocolate mouse was fab! Gratins were unreal! We went twice in one week and they were so welcoming despite other resteraunt a harassing us in!

My sister and I visited here as we wanted to go out to dinner somewhere near our hotel. We were jostled and harassed by a neighbouring restaurant to eat there but instead were warmly greeted by staff at El Gaitero, so it made a refreshing change! The food was amazing. Friendly staff. Steaks were good and big. Visited twice during our holidays. 2nd visit less sucessful than first. My husband had fish which was not great and would not recommend. Stick to grill items and you won't go wrong!!

The fact that we have gone here for years tells you that we like it, but we only keep going because the food is good.
