We had the best meal you can imagine at this restaurant. It only serves typical dishes from Alentejo. The owner helped us pick our dishes. We had the most delicious soup you can imagine, Sopa de cação. This is a soup made with cilantro and delicious fish, very flavorful. We also had the Iberian pork and a delicious dessert. Very... After reading a few reviews here we decided to eat at the Taberna Al-Andaluz. When we arrived the restaurant was closed as it took a few hours break during the low activity hours, the owner noticed us and came to greet us at the door, a very welcoming person! He opened the restaurant just for us, and ofcourse we felt... More

Good food with a very passionate owner chef. Wine was good and reasonable priced. As stated before the owner / chef can be a little overbearing but we just went along with him and everything was fine. The menu was certainly different and all four of us enjoyed our meals.

This restaurant is a tale of two halves. The food is outstanding, and the wine selection is also very good. There are various tapas style options. The downside is the heavily bullfighting influenced decoration and the over proud owner.

This is a good restaurant, but don't expect to be able to choose freely from the menu. Just accept what the very friendly owner recommends and you won't have any problems. I don't think he is a Michelin wannabe, he just really wants to introduce his guests to the regional cuisine and it is his style to give all of... More

The food is good enough. Ambiance mediocre. The owner/chef is an annoying and pretentious Michelin wannabe. The service was spotty and many items were not available, and wrong drinks served. Maybe it was an off night, but I would not go back
