The best cut of meat

I was glad that I have a chance to dine in this restaurant in Panzano in Chianti. It was an amazing lunch menu that one could taste different parts of the beef in one go. Broiled beef, roast beef, braised beef.....it was such an abundant feast which could not be easily forgotten. The style of... read more

Our local friend knows Dario the butcher so we were so lucky to have met him prior to dinner reservation. He's definitely a big character and has such presence. Totally friendly and working behind the counter slicing meat into perfect slices with knife (not a slicer!). They have a spread of food of products that they sell at the shop... More

Unlike most of the guests to this restaurant, we did not know how famous and popular it is before we dined there. We were on the way back to our B&B and felt hungry, so stopped to look for a restaurant. It was 6:30 PM and most restaurants were not open yet, but some people seemed to gather in front... More

Dario and his meat is famous all over Europe. He has three eateries in the town each serving different cuts of meat, mainly beef but some pork, from his shop(was surprised the beef came from Spain). Communal eating is the theme with long tables that you share with your fellow diners. Whilst the food was good and reasonably priced with... More

Dinner at Solo Ciccia was not only delicious but also a great experience. The table is set outside behind the butcher shop; i really liked the concept of food sharing at a big communal table. It felt like one of those sunday meals with the family. The courses are exquisite and will please every meat lover out there. Everything is... More

Visited in late August 2015 with 2 friends. Our dinner at Solo Ciccia has been a highlight of a week-long Tuscany trip. The experience was fun - eating is at long tables, communal-style; menu is set, so you really get to enjoy your time with best options already selected. All meaty dishes were delicious, with Arrosto Fiorentino my favorite. Meat... More

Eating at Solociccia was an experience I will never forget. Our adventure started in Dario Cecchini's famous butcher shop, where he personally greeted us with a glass of vino and crostini, all of which were free. In the midst of the party atmosphere Dario explained that his restaurant across the street offers a set menu of six meat courses, with... More

After the traditional Italian restaurant we had chosen was book out we decided to give this a go. I had read some positive experiances about the various establishments the family own and thought it sounded interesting. My husband and I approached the crowd which was spilled out on the street eating salumi and washing it down with a tumbler of... More

If nearby don't miss the opportunity to attend the palace of beef. Dario has improved on his trademark: Great Beef served many ways in different venues. Pick one, go with an open mind, you will not be disappointed. It's not fine dining, just fun and great food. Be prepared to become close and make new friends. It's part of the... More

I have purposely travelled great distances to try different Michelin-starred restaurants. I consider myself a foodie. This restaurant is one I will visit again and it exceeded my expectations. For my first visit, I did eat all of the meat. I rarely eat meat, but appreciated the effort and attention made by the chef. For my second visit, I opted... More
