You wouldn't think fish would be so expensive

Fisherman must be earning pretty good wages. The catch of the day with a tiny salad and just water cost me 40$! Yes, the fish was good and they debone it for you but I left the restaurant still hungry. That is definitely a first! The bill had a bitter after taste.

I happened to visit this great restaurant in August; my friends and i reserved a table at 1pm. Everything was excellent, from the antipasti to the wine because unfortunately i could not fit in the dessert!! The service is impeccable, loved the great hospitality. The location is in a street, no breathtaking views but the ambiance is really well set... More

We were a table of four looking for a quick meal fix and stumbled upon this trattoria on Via Roma just outside the gates of the old city. We sat on the outside terrace which did not offer much of a view but was nice and cool. Our meals were not expensive - the servers very friendly and helpful. I... More

Had an okay meal here. Calamari was fresh, price was good. Waiter was a bit rude but atmosphere was nice. Fairly touristy.

We came to Polignano a Mare from Monopoli to visit city and to have a dinner. City center is full of restaurants and it was quite difficult to choose. So, we decided to try Trattoria Della Nonna. Well, first - service is extremely SLOW! We had to wait 15-20 minutes to make an order, but there were only 3 tables... More

This dinner from this restaurant was voted by most in our group as one of the best we had in Italy. So much so that we ate there 2 nights in a row. The hosts went out of there way to help us chose the best option and even made me a vegetable risotto when I told them i was... More

We shared mixed antipasti and risotto here on a rainy Saturday. It was perfect! The restaurant is tucked away on a side street. You climb a staircase to a lovely cosy trattoria which protects you from the rain and, I guess, the sun in summer. The staff are friendly & we were fortunate to have an Italian speaker with us... Polignano a Mare is really a charming place to visit! We had dinner there and we had delicious seafood in this restaurant! The very good thing was not only the freshness and the quality of the fishes but also the dishes were not so classical, a perfect mix of tastes! It is a bit expensive, as usual in Italy, but... We couldn't fault Nonna's - the service and the food were exceptional, and very reasonably priced. In busy periods booking is a must.
