The atmosphere is quite informal, which suited the stone walls and high ceilings, giving the place both an historic feel and and an exotic one. We were looking for local, authentically prepared dishes and certainly found some there: remembering that sometimes "local" and "authentic" can spell simple and basic, still the preparation was good- if not inspired- and we appreciated... We stayed in Polignano for 9 days, tried lots of little restaurants and found that one was the greatest. It's located on a big place and the terrasse of the restaurant has the best view to look at people or to see the animations in Polignano (concerts, animations in August). The staff was GREAT, super cool and super kind with... More

The staff was very accommodating. The outdoor seating area was full, but they discussed the situation among themselves, then quickly rearranged a few tables and added one for me. One of the waiter's spoke English and explained the entire menu to me (way beyond the call of duty!), and then made several wonderful recommendations when I asked what was typical... More

A wonderful experience: Tasty local food with modern twist. Excellent wines of good value to match the food. If you are interested, you will get to know everything you need about Puglian wines in a nutshell. Try the local beers as well. Very kind service - in English, too. We warmly recommend.

I'll write this in English, as so far an English-language review seems to be missing. I had heard about the place through the Association (Infermento's owner and I are both nationaly-trained sommeliers). My only regret wasn't that I hadn't gone sooner. Three dinners in three nights, and each was excellent. Further, with Giuseppe's wine training, he really knows pugliese wine,... More

Thank you Guiseppe... More a wine bar than a restaurant, and with the owner's help we had a lovely bottle of local red. The food was good - portions a little small - but very tasty. Overall, good value.
