GREAT Live Irish Music, Seafood and Local Beer

Listening to Irish music live in a pub is not to be missed when you visit Ireland. Portmagee - The Bridge Bar - is a MUST. We had a great meal, delicious local beer and the best time listening to a group of local musicians play old Irish standards. The bar is full (but not crowded) with all ages... read more

I had what I consider to be the ultimate fish and chip meal here - freshly caught cod in the most amazing breadcrumbed, battered crust, chunky chips and a beautiful side of steamed veggies. Now here's the thing, when on holiday, you tend to frequently eat out and maybe your choices are not the most healthy on the menu. That... More

Had a lovely dinner this evening at the recommendation of our B&B proprietor. She did not lead us astray. The ambiance is what you would expect of a pub in a seafaring town with the exception that I found it notably clean. We dined on a variety of foods from the burger to the hake special everything being of superior... More

Stopped in here for lunch on a lovely sunny spring (April) afternoon as we drive the Ring of Kerry. Sat out on the picnic tables next to the harbor and ordered the fish and chips. Service was prompt and the fish was prepared very nicely. Thin fillet with a light crust, not the typical thick greasy beer batter. A close... More

Had lunch here over the Easter weekend. Service was excellent, we had crab claws, chowder, fish & chips and all were very good . Place was very busy and had a great atmosphere. Toilets were spotless and overall it is very well run . Will be back on our next visit to the kingdom!!

Stopped in here for a quick lunch on the Ring of Kerry. Portmagee is a nice stop and only 10 minutes off the road for the Ring of Kerry. I had chicken wings and my fiancée had a toastie. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. Great decor. Staff were very friendly even just observing them talking to other tourists sitting nearby.Lovely... More

We ended up here when we were looking fo a place to eat on our trip to Kerry and couldn't be more lucky. I have to say food is delicious (especially seafood) and service is really great. Would highly recommend this place.

We had a late lunch in Portmagee while driving the Ring Of Kerry. Our group of two families thougth the fish and chips were the best of the trip. I had lamb which was delicious. Great pints, service, and it was warm on a cold winter day.

I went to The Bridge many, many times during my stay in the area from Oct 16, 2014 to Jan 13, 2015. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere set by Gerard, the owner, and well lived up to be his staff. The seafood is fantastic and, given the location, fresh as can be. I also enjoyed the roasts (lamb and... More
