Great for a pint in Portmagee!

Stopped here while visiting Portmagee, a beautiful village with a great view of the Skelligs. I liked the ambience here. Service was very friendly, the Guinness was wonderful (but it's wonderful everywhere in Ireland, right?),and it was a nice spot to take a break from walking in the village... read more

I had my child's Christening in the Bridge Bar/ Moorings Restaurant. They reserved the full restaurant for us for the couple of hours we required it. We went with one of their set menus for the adults and the children were given kids menu's. The food was absolutely amazing and all my family commented on the high standard we received.... More

The Bridge Bar is a pleasant night out - not fancy, or expensive, but a great place for a terrific meal that relates to the location - in remote, country Ireland. We learned that Portmagee is also an important location for the latest Star Wars movies, so will have a touch of fame. We enjoyed the lack of pretension and... More

Went to this place twice recently with my partner and 2 small children and we where treated as if we were a nuisance, food dropped on out tables and all staff in a hurry. Food was good but way overpriced. Rip of tourism/Ireland is well and truly alive. The 2nd night we went back to give it a 2nd chance... More

We visited twice during our recent trip to Kerry for lunch. Both meals were enjoyable and the bar/restaurant is very comfortable. The food is above average and the service is friendly. Loved the fish and chips and stuffed chicken. The burger was drenched in a sauce that wasn't great, but I would just request no sauce next time. We will... More

We parked our cars at the bridge and cycled all over Valentia. On returning over to Portmagee it was raining so we secured the bikes and decided to find somewhere to some lunch at 13:30. Portmagee was deserted so we walk down the street and heard noise coming from the Bridge Bar. We opened the door and found out why... More

I enjoy the ambiance in this nautically-themed pub. The food is quite nice and they pull a good pint. Nice place to stop on a Ring of Kerry tour.

Both this bar and a restaurant next door is one complex. While restaurant is very calm and requires sitting, bar is very lively. They have a good menu with today's specials, interesting desserts and fresh fish. Grilled fish would be my suggestion. I got understanding that this is a popular bar among locals. While still there are many tourists, locals... More

We stayed a week on Valentia Island, and ate several times at the Bridge Bar, in Portmagee. It's very popular, had to wait a while for a table a couple of times (and this was the end of September!) Super meals, great service, and just over the road from the lovely Portmagee harbour. Drinks outside on fine evenings - perfect!
