Tasty food, excellent chef

The food at this little restaurant was freshly prepared, and the staff offer a leisurely meal. The chef visited our table several times, and rightly exhibited pride in his work.

We had wonderful paella at this restaurant which is owned by natives of Barcelona. It is a little out of the way but not hard to find near Uvita. We do plan to go back and try some of the other dishes.

We ordered the paella mixta which we shared with four. Great service, the chef owner visited our table twice to make sure all was right. He also came out as we were leaving to wish us a gracious Buenos noches. Delightful high end meal, with high end service in a very guiet jungle like setting. Would recommend this spot highly.

This is a small restaurant, with only about 8 tables. We arrived @ around 6:30 and there were two other tables occupied. The service was absolutely glacial in speed. Lovely, pleasant people, but we didn't come to spend three hours having a salad and a main course. We ordered beer and wine within 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes to get... More

My boyfriend and I had dinner here a couple of weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience. The owners are incredibly friendly and provided excellent service with the chef coming out halfway through our dinner to check on us. We had the stuffed avocado for an appetizer which was amazing and shared the paella which was delicious as well.... More

Stayed in Uvita for 4 nights and visited this lovely restaurant twice. This was by far the best meal during our 4 weeks of vacation. Try the grilled prawns with whiskey and cream and the grilled pinable with icecream. You will not regret. Service is excellent and the cook/owner visits every table to make sure that you are satisfied. This... More

We dropped into Sabor Espanol while driving the coast from Manuel Antonio to Corcovado. They're listed in the recent Lonely Planet guide and this place is a gem! It's a little off the beaten track but the sangria alone is worth the trip. The dishes are truly unique and so delicious. We had a sampling that included sauteed mushrooms in... More

The food at Sabor Espanol is wonderful, as is the service and the owners hospitality. I have never been disappointed eating here.

We had the paella which was very tasty. It does take 40 minutes to make as everything is cooked fresh. The restaurant is hard to find but worth it. Lovely atmosphere. Great service.

One of the nice things about Sabor Español is that there's a total of maybe six or seven tables, and I felt that the small size really helped the meal feel special. The food is excellent - we ate the lomito de cerdo con piña and the seafood paella and both were exceptional. We couldn't quite manage everything and they... More
