Best meal in Costa Rica

Stayed in Uvita for 4 nights and visited this lovely restaurant twice. This was by far the best meal during our 4 weeks of vacation. Try the grilled prawns with whiskey and cream and the grilled pinable with icecream. You will not regret. Service is excellent and the cook/owner visits every table... read more

We dropped into Sabor Espanol while driving the coast from Manuel Antonio to Corcovado. They're listed in the recent Lonely Planet guide and this place is a gem! It's a little off the beaten track but the sangria alone is worth the trip. The dishes are truly unique and so delicious. We had a sampling that included sauteed mushrooms in... More

The food at Sabor Espanol is wonderful, as is the service and the owners hospitality. I have never been disappointed eating here.

We had the paella which was very tasty. It does take 40 minutes to make as everything is cooked fresh. The restaurant is hard to find but worth it. Lovely atmosphere. Great service.

One of the nice things about Sabor Español is that there's a total of maybe six or seven tables, and I felt that the small size really helped the meal feel special. The food is excellent - we ate the lomito de cerdo con piña and the seafood paella and both were exceptional. We couldn't quite manage everything and they... More

We had lunch and dinner here on our recent stay in Uvita. The friendly owners are from Spain and the food was excellent. We had the paella for 2, definitely worth the wait!

As a local expat, Sabor Espanol is our "go-to" restaurant in the area. Lovely environment, great food, and the owners are friendly and welcoming. Truly beautiful people and place.

Although a little hard to find, it's worth getting lost for. This outdoor restaurant works with fresh ingredients and the food was nothing short of perfection! I still have dreams about the grilled squid as I almost had a "When Harry Met Sally" moment while eating it. It was that good. This is a MUST do for dinner.

We have eaten all over the world. This far passed any expectations we had. The ride there is a bit bumpy but worth it. The atmosphere was beautiful and the chef enthusiastic. If you have time get one of his specials or order ahead. We wanted to try everything on the menu!

Tucked away off the beaten path, Sabor Espanol is a gem. The chef genuinely cares about his food (and comes out to see if everything is ok - and means it!) he makes the best Paella which is worth the wait Definitely worth a visit, and then afterwards pop to Flutterby House for a drink in the coolest hostel around.
