Fantatic food, friendly staff

You have to come early afternoon to ensure they have what you need. We ordered lobster, and had a dedicated table with flowers on it waiting for us when we arrived. The tastes were amazing and the staff dedicated. It is very laid back but you get the feeling of a typical local place. I would... read more

We had dinner here once and the portions were good while the prices were fair. Prefer Sea Horse in the area but this place was also good. We had the grilled prawns and coconut prawns. Also had the spaghtetti with tomato sauce. Also had the chappati with vegetable curry. All the food was fresh and tasty. Very reasonably priced.

I came here one night for dinner having read the reviews. I was the only one in the restaurant (hey this is the shoulder of the season so no surprise). When I asked about various items on the menu, I was told they were all available. This was a bit of a surprise as getting good quality sea food on... More

Fantastic little place with amazing food and great atmosphere. We were the only people in the restaurant, and had a lovely meal lit by paraffin lanterns. Would highly recommend it.

Was really a pleasure to have local Zanzibari food at Stone Culture. Food was really good and would definetly recommend the Fish Sambosas and their curry. Would def recommend it as your visit to Jambiani would not be complete without it.

We went for lunch, we were staying just round the corner at Mamamapambo. Sweet simple restaurant, friendly service, yes the food takes a long time but we had complementary cassava crisps while we waited and we had gone early! Delicious fish samosa, squid with vegetables and curry. Would recommend.

Since I read many positive reviews of this place I decided to give it a try during my 1-week holiday in Jambiani. The food is indeed very good and the menu very extensive. Price/Quality this place is great. I had fish samosas and spicy sea food salad. Would come again if I were ever to return to Zanzibar.

Stone Culture restaurant is right next door to the Mamamapambo Hotel, where we were staying, and I wandered down for lunch one afternoon alone, when my husband wasn't feeling very well. The restaurant looks like a little stone shack on the beach, but its walls are hand painted with all types of different fish, which gives it quite an urban... More

We were walking along the beach looking for a place for dinner and stumbled upon Stone Culture. We almost missed it in the dark. They had just moved that day from the village to the beach and had no electricity. We were their only customers. I assume they were cooking on a charcoal stove, and we ate by candlelight. The... Very flavourful food! I'm still thinking about the fish samosas. Friendly staff. Cute setting. I also really enjoyed the chai tea and the calamari. My husband tried the Zanzibari beef which was excellent as well. Would eat here again!
