During our stay in Jambiani we had dinner twice at the Sea Horse, and we can highly recommend Zube's restaurant. We ordered 2 hours in advance, and then had dinner in a very romantic and quiet setting. The staff is so friendly and nice, we felt highly comfortable. The food was so tasty, we tried samosas, fish in coconut crust,... More

I'm glad to see that other people are enjoying Zube's food too! The food is so nice, especially the curries and fish in coconut crust. I had many interesting talks with Zube and enjoyed my time there. Eating in the evening is also an experience, no bulbs, sound of the sea in the background and candlelight - it's a pity... More

Don't worry about the slow pace here. calm down and enjoy the wonderful view and delightful candle-lit tables. The fish here was excellent and the view and proximity to the Ocean was magnificent.

have dinner there, choose the table closest to the water. Ask for a candlelight. Have fish/seafood. (consider asking someone to look after your child so you can stay more than 40 minutes...!) It's a great place - but it gets dark, and then it's not suitable for 1year-olds. However perfect for a romantic dinner.

This is very good, solid and honest local food in Jambiani. Tell them about two hours in advance what you would like to eat and they will cook it freshly for you. Very good value.

The waiter at the Sea Horse seemed to be in a bad mood when 3 friends and I ate. The 4 of us ordered and the waiter left for the kitchen. Soon he returned and said there was no fish which one of our party had ordered so she ordered chicken instead. He left for the kitchen and again came... More

What is special about this spot is the experience itself. It's a tiny restaurant established by a local ,born in the village. His english is great and his hospitality even beter. There is no electricity ,so you eat by lantern light right off the beach. You wait quite a while as your meal is made from scratch(you hear the goings on behind the straw... We ate here during our vacation in Tanzania and found it to be one of the best meals we've had. Great fish samosa and crusted coconut fish. The chef is very friendly as well.

This seriously local and rustic lean-to is a true gem! We travelled back to Jambiani for our last night on the island in order to savour the spiced fish samosas and chapatis that are magically created in the small hut that makes up the back of the restaurant. Friendly service and fantastic local food.

When visiting Jambiani, we were rather disappointed by the very western food in our Hotel. So we went out and looked for something more local and found in Zube’s lovely restaurant exactly what we were looking for. In the end, we ate every day there. The food was fresh, spicy and simply delicious. A special tip: Try the yummy spice... More
