Great food in the heart of Richmond

We went for an anniversary dinner recently and it was amazing. Every plate not only eye catching but delicious and well balanced. I also loved the souffle, don't leave without trying it!

What a fabulous way to spend a Sunday afternoon - lunching at Noir with a dear friend. The food and service were spectacular. Our waiters, Archie and Aemon have perfected the theatre of serving in a fine dining establishment. There is nothing I could fault from the 4 course tasting menu. The prawn risotto, the artichoke soup, the duck cannelloni were... More

I started with some oysters with Champagne granite. Plump oysters with a crisp flavour. Duck consomme, foie gras tortellini, king brown mushroom, pomme souffle and parsley was the other entrée. Lovely and an imaginative combination. Macleay Valley rabbit pie, black pepper soubise, roast parsnips and rainbow chard. Certainly a highlight. The other main was a thyme gnocchetti, king brown mushroom... More

In a street of mixed businesses and soccer fans, this is a little gem. Very attentive staff welcomed us on a cold Winter's night. The "Menu du Jour" is a great way to sample the eclectic mix of food. A fine but affordable wine list from around the world made for a very satisfying evening!

Noir was the first fine dining restaurant to open in Swan Street and Peter's food has remained at a consistent high standard, offering quite a different menu and experience to other popular recent arrivals. Unfortunately for us, this is a special occasion restaurant so my birthday dinner was enjoyed with relish. Superbly presented food, exciting taste combinations and professional service.... More

Great food. Great service. Had a four course meal with matching wines. The meals were timed to perfection. A great experience.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Noir, ordering the chef's tasting menu and some superb cocktails. The espresso martini before dinner was really well done, and we brought our own wine to accompany the meal. The BYO policy is a nice touch in restaurants. Service was friendly, and the offerings were explained in a very informative way, without being foodie-boring.

One year ago we were in Bordeaux on my partner's birthday (La Poudette) so this year (as France was not an option) we had to find somewhere French. After reading many reviews including TA, I chose Noir. We were not disappointed. It is not traditionally French but with a strong French influence but with a modern approach, which was very... More

The Swan St strip is not normally where you think of for stylish dining. Cafes, pub food and take-away yes, but top service and elegant dishes not so much. Well it's time to rethink, at least for Noir as the excuse to that rule. A new local recommended it to me and i was impressed from the start with an... More
