The Swan St strip is not normally where you think of for stylish dining. Cafes, pub food and take-away yes, but top service and elegant dishes not so much. Well it's time to rethink, at least for Noir as the excuse to that rule. A new local recommended it to me and i was impressed from the start with an... More

Wonderful. Tourists in town looking to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. A bit confused about the booking process - walked there the day before (45mins!!) to book in person and told it was completely booked out for the next evening (Friday). Went back to our hotel and booked on-line with Dimmi with no problem at all and with several time options... More

Had a wine dinner here last week. So set menu but some of the courses are on the menu. The appetizer was a crab and tomato galette which was superb. The entree was a caramelized atlantic scallop with Jerusalem artichoke risoni, great flavours. The first main was crisp duck breast with mushrooms/chestnuts and quince, duck was cooked perfectly. The second... More

Noir did not came up on my radar until a recent browse of Urbanspoon. Being French, my cricles tell me where to get a good dinner and would generally stick to recommendations but I decided to give Noir a try for a romantic dinner. Despite not being operated by French people, you can tell there is some serious experience there,... More

The quality of the French inspired menu is equivalent to many top rated restaurants. What is particularly enjoyable about Noir is it is done in an understated Richmond way so people feel at ease in the environment while enjoying really outstanding food. Lunches are also exceptional value (around $35 or 40 for a fixed price menu). We are regular guests... More

I've been to this restaurant several times and it never fails to disappoints. My appetizer always starts with their oyster champagne granite, which is delicately refreshing and delicious. Noir continues to deliver consistantly wonderful food at good value with faultless service.

We each had the degustation menu with paired wines. It was excellent. Service was good, price was good as well. We'll go back.

My wife and I enjoyed a most pleasant Sunday lunch at Noir as part of a foursome. I partook of the four-course Menu du Jour degustation menu, while my wife opted for the three-course alternative. We both started with a salad of heritage tomatoes and avocado purée, which set the scene, as the tomatoes were just the right firmness and... More

We arrived on a Friday night for a romantic dinner for 2. Drinks and an Amuse bouche arrived promptly and service remained good all evening. The French Champagne had been recently opened and had plenty of bubble. As it was a special occasion, we opted for the Degustation Menu ($80/ head) which was hit and miss, some plates delicious, others... More
