Lovely meal

I was given a voucher for my birthday so decided to use last weekend. The restaurant is beautiful when you enter, lovely surroundings, glassed windows overlooking vineyard. My husband had gnocchi which was different to what he has had, not a huge meal but lost of interesting flavours. I had the... read more

I have been to Shantell many times over the years. It is a pleasant experience without a failure. Food is tasty well presented and excellent selections in the menu. Very few restaurants where both the owners attend to the customers which gives a personal touch. Views over the winery is beautiful and I can recommend at any time.

Took some interstate friends to lunch at Shantells as, having been before, loved the surroundings and the food. The booking was made with ease, very friendly and i thought excellent! However, that all promptly changed when we arrived. The pre-requisite wine tasting was such hard work! The lass obviously knew nothing regarding the wines as she hardly uttered a word!... More

Meals are really small portions. Mains are size of an entree but cost in the high $30s. Don't order any wine as they are just as stingy about wine as they are meals.

A small restaurant within a beautiful winery. The food changes with the seasons so you will always experience something different. Family owned and operated means there is dedication to your experience here. I love the Semillon, it goes with all the food on the menu. Delightful place for a leisurely lunch, open from Thursday to Monday for lunches only.

For a refundable with purchase $3 tasting fee, you can sample a half-dozen or so good wines in a sleek setting.

We went to Shantell for a birthday luncheon with family and friends and were absolutely delighted with the whole event. The owners and staff went to a lot of trouble to ensure the event went well. The entire set-up looked lovely with linen, customised menus and flowers from the vineyard on the tables. Everyone was really impressed with the food,... More

lunch for nine! Shared tasting plates for starters then most of the mains and deserts. Everyone of our group was full of praise for the excellent food, from the truffle infused poussin to the salmon and the gnocchi. The deserts absolutely thrilled! High praise indeed. We were all glad the restaurant was deservedly full. The service from the family run... More

Wednesday is a great day to go tasting. It's quiet and the lack of crowds allow you time to savor wine tastes and visit with your hosts. This winery is small & family owned with a small restaurant and wonderful aboriginal art on the walls. The wine they make is lovely. And you must buy it on their premises. Their... More

Went in for lunch over, had a bottle of bubbly with our meal. Great vineyard, wonderful restaurant with lovely settings and picturesque views. Feels close to the touch of wine along with its nature and process. Wonderful experience of that. Shares an entrée tasting board with my partner and it was below our expectation, less then mediocre. Almost like putting... More
