Excellent food and great location

We were there on a perfect day in July and what a find! Great food, ate outside, Hope to go back soon! Service was not bad considering a bunch of us arrived on the ferry from Northeast Harbor at the same time!

Tasteless lobster rolls. Generic soft drinks. Long walk there. Supposedly there is a free transport but don't count on it. Expensive for the type of facility. Coleslaw had absolutely no flavor. There were 6 of us and we were all disappointed. Example of the service was we asked how the coleslaw was. Expecting something relating to flavor, he said "fresh".

We boated over to Great Cranberry and walked a 1/2 mile to this perfect spot! Lovely staff, perfect ambiance and after stuffing myself with lobster roll we could see more of the Cranberry Island history in the museum. The museum even had a video of their construction of affordable housing. (the expensive summer homes don't accommodate the local folks) If... More

What a treasure on this tiny island! Don't miss your gourmet lunch at this cafe, tour the museum, hike the beach path, then back to the cafe for ice cream....perfect!!

While waiting for the ferry to SW Harbor, we snacked on Hitty's wonderful blueberry muffins and drank their fine coffee. As the nice lady at the counter pointed out "the ones on the left are still hot as we just made them". So how could I resist ? So I had one, and then another and then, fortunately (?) the... More

We ate at Hitty's Cafe in mid August of 2013! Yummy, fresh and natural food. The prices are reasonable. The amazing part is that there is also a Historical Museum on site, in this exact same building! The curator was extremely knowledgeable. One could approach him with any and all questions. We arrived here via the Cranberry Cove Ferry. This... More

Hitty's Cafe is located in Cranberry House on Great Cranberry Island. Also housed in the building with Hitty's Cafe is the Great Cranberry Island Historical Museum. My family and I enjoyed lunch at Hitty's Cafe on July 8, 2008 and were overwhelmingly surprised at the quality of the sandwiches. Hitty's Cafe looks like a typical snack bar from the street,...
