Description: The South Okanagan has gained a well deserved reputation as a desirable destination for tourists seeking an agricultural and culinary experience. The Sonora Room at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery features prominently in this regard with its epicurean excellence, superb service, relaxed style and scenic splendour. The restaurant overlooks 146 acres of picturesque vineyard from the patio or inside the warm and inviting dining room. The philosophy of the talented culinary team is to embrace the opportunity to showcase many of the South Okanagan’s local producers. Dishes are created that utilize an array of local organic produce, seasonal fruits and artisan cheeses, and pair perfectly with Burrowing Owl's award winning wines. The exclusive wine list includes a selection of Burrowing Owl's current vintages, and library wines that are no longer publicly available for sale. Creative cuisine, impeccable service and a beautiful venue highlight the great agricultural diversity of the region.

After wine tasting at the Burrowing Owl, and purchasing some really great wines, we walked over to the Sonora Room for lunch. We were not prepared for, what can only be described as, one of the best meals we have ever had. The setting and view were amazing, the service was top notch, but the food was just perfection. We... We went to Burrowing Owl Winery for dinner at the Sonora Room… where we sat on the outdoor patio, looked out over the south Okanagan Valley, and enjoyed wine and good food (halibut for my wife Deb, cioppino for me). The food is amazing, the wine satisfying and the view tremendous. one of the top wineries in the Okanagan for... More

Such a great place – this is our fourth time at The Sonora Room, and it just gets better every time. The food is perfection. The service was excellent! We watched the sunset and the moonrise while we dined in style. Make a reservation. Worth the splurge!

We had a fabulous dinner here! It was a week night, off season so not crowded but didn't harm the experience. Service was very friendly without being overdone. Timing between courses was comfortable enough to relax and visit but not too long as you wondered what was up. Food was completely amazing- fresh and flavorful and the portions were generous.... We dined here for a Wednesday lunch- what a great start to October! Beautiful location and views. Actually we started with a wine tasting next door in the tasting room, then wandered over for lunch. For appetisers we had the goat cheese salad- delicious greens and nicely prepared; perhaps missing the "kicker"? We also had the tuna- amazingly fresh and... More

The food is great, presentation especially. Service was good - our server introduced herself and went through the menu briefly with us before we ordered. The restaurant itself is very quiet which is nice we went during the summer so we enjoyed the view and the weather in peace and quiet. After a long hot car ride from Vancouver it... More

Although not a big wine fan, we were recommended to go to this place by our in-laws for a little anniversary lunch. Boy, were we not disappointed! Although the prices are on the high side, this restaurant is situated beautifully on the hill overlooking the vineyards with an amazing view. Inside and out, you get an amazing atmosphere. I had... I have been to the Sonora room a couple of times and it definitely maintains the highest standard for food preparation in the lower half of the Valley, perhaps in all of it. Their kitchen folk know what they are doing and have been given the freedom to use excellent materials and the time they need for a good presentation.... More

The setting was perfect overlooking the vineyards when you can feel the heat of the mid day sun. Our food was fantastic and our friend from Toronto could not believe how beautiful the area was (his first time to the Okanagan).
