The owner of this little bbq stand takes his meat seriously.

Not fancy pants. Reliable, delicious smoked pork (and brisket on thursdays), with a variety of perfect homemade sauces to choose from. Yum. Can't wait until he opens for summer 2015 in a couple of weeks!

I love the sandwiches/wraps and the assortment of sauces from which to choose. Baked beans are a great side. However, I have found consistency lacking at times. I've had a couple of very dry sandwiches - the meat dry and hard to chew. Other than that - when they're great, they're great. Located on the lawn of Bel Air Cedar... More

Amazing pulled pork sandwich and very reasonably priced! The white sauce was amazing and very refreshing coleslaw! I'd definitely go back!

So the pork was good. The man cooking and selling was by far one of the least enjoyable personalities we have ever come across in the service industry. He was out of ribs. The beans seemed to have been poured out of a kidney bean can, and heated. He closed shop early, and wouldn't serve two sets of customers who... More

Sorry to hear about your experience at Hammer's. I'm not sure which day you visited although I do know that I was sold out early Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this last week of the season. As is common in making barbeque, when you're out, you're out. I have a certain capacity on the two smokers and when sold out of... More

A simple roadside trailer and a single picnic table are the humble abode of this seasonal provider. Note that our Google Map search put it in the wrong location, so best follow the address (near the south end of town, in front of Bel Air). Our timing is lucky as he shuts down at the end of the week (last... More

The food was excellent. Went there three times this season. The pulled pork and the ribs were amazingly good.

I read the reviews here, we have been visiting this area at least once a year for about the last 8 years and hadn't stopped at this roadside eatery, but after reading the reviews, we put it on our agenda. First the hours get reduced in the shoulder season and we weren't aware so our first date planned to try,... More

Hammer's House of Hog is rated #1 for good reason. The pulled pork sandwich (we had ours as a wrap) was the best we've ever had. The coleslaw and beans were average but didn't detract from the enjoyment of the meal. Future trips to Oliver won't be complete without a stop at Hammer's!!

My wife read about this place so we drove up from Osoyoos to find it. Well, we actually drove by twice before we found it because it's basically a tiny trailer shack just off the side of the road. That said, we order a pull pork sandwich and an order of ribs. We found the sandwich good but the ribs... More

Well I guess I'm not a pulled pork kind of guy. The sandwich was OK 3 of 5*, beans 1 of 5* gave me bad case of heartburn. Not repeat NOT on my list of places to return.
