Description: This restaurant is in the Club house of the Slocan Golf Course 2 miles north of New Denver BC. It was recommended to us by the Visitors Bureau. We drove up there and were a little sceptical when we saw the club house. Yes, they have plastic tables, plastic chairs BUT they have the most wonderful food I have eaten in a long while. My husband and I both had the Steak Tenderloin, served with homecut fries, beautiful fresh garden salad with an oil/vinigrette house dressing. The steak was so tender that you really didn't need a knife. When I asked what kinds of wine they had by the glass - expecting the usual "red & white" non-descript wine I was pleasanlty surprised when the waitress said "come up to the bar and look at all our bottles" - I thought they must be sold by the bottle as there was some very very good wines on display but they were all sold by the glass - what a wonderfu surprise!. The dessert choice was excellent - I chose the profiteroles,my husband the decadent baked brownie with ice-cream. The club house is situated up on a hill and on one side of the restaurant you have an unobstructed view of down Slocan Lake and on the other side a lovely view down the freeway. It was a very pleasant dining experience and I would highly reccommend anyone to eat here. The chef is French and is more than willing to oblige your tastes.

Seems like every year there is an entire new staff here, probably due to being seasonal and a bit remote. We enjoyed lunch inside restaurant as the patio with an amazing view was windy and a bit chilly. Food was pub food type and good quality. Attentive staff.

The recommendation for this restaurant came from a woman at the bank in town. Thank you! The restaurant is at the Slocan Golf Club just outside of New Denver. The chef is French, the view on one side is the golf course, the other the lake. The food was great. He pleased eight vegetarians with delicious veggie burgers and also... More

I asked at the visitor center in New Denver for suggestions on a place to have supper - they suggested 2 places right in town as well as the local golf course 2miles up the road. The restaurant there is called "Fat Frog". When we got there it seemed like it was going to be a little disappointing but we... More
