Ten miles from Cardiff, in the historic market town of Cowbridge, you'll find Huddarts Restaurant. It's worth the trip. Inside the beautiful Georgian house, dating back to 1756 you'll find a delighful intimate restaurant boasting a selection of A La Carte dishes with a marriage of old time charm and modern splendour. Since 1996 all produce has been sourced as much as possible locally and prepared on the premises by owner chef Andrew Huddart, front of house is looked after by his wife Julie.

Excellent for a special Sunday lunch

We enjoyed a really delightful Sunday lunch here recently to celebrate my husband's birthday. The service was exceptional and the food options and presentation were great and importantly it tasted as good as it looked. The desserts were sublime.

The food and service at this restaurant is always amazing. The owner is front of house and her husband is the chef. Lovely crystal glasses and linen tablecloths and napkins. Lovely for a special occasion or if you fancy being spoilt. Bookings are essential unless you wish to go early on in the week.

We have lived in Brussels for many years so we are spoiled for great restaurants. But whenever we visit Wales we try and make it to Huddards. We first discovered it before we had children, then with the children and grandparents. Huddards is superb and has never disappointed. Excellent food, first-class service, a great atmosphere. Can't wait for our next... More

Thank you again Huddarts ! Third visit and food was absolutely delicious again. The Sunday lunch time menu is superb value - with an excellent choice, ample servings and good quality products. The staff are a credit here - very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant itself is very comfortable - it almost feels like being in... More

Visited for Sunday lunch today and we were squeezed in without a booking. Lovely ambience and fantastic service, accommodating our requests for slightly modified starters. Roast dinners all cooked to perfection with attentive but not intrusive staff. Although busy, we did not have to wait long for food that was beautifully presented. Go there!

We have been regulars at this restaurant since discovering it, 8 or 9 years ago, and can honestly say that we have, without exception, always had a top class experience here, both with the excellent food and the attentive service. The menu consistently offers venison, quail, pheasant and fresh fish, in addition to the usual fare. all perfectly prepared with... More

The atmosphere, decor, surroundings and especially the service, are faultless. The quality of the ingredients really superb but the food, although beautifully presented was slightly bland.Had the chef forgotten to season the dishes? To start I had the fritto misto, no seasoning in the salmon, lemon sole, hake, and king prawns themselves and the tomato sauce served with them didn't... More

Chosen based on Trip Advisor reviews. From the welcome through the door to the waitress/waiter service & the attention from the owner checking things were ok.........they were all exemplary. Starters & desserts were excellent both in presentation, quantity & taste. Main courses were fine with plenty of fresh vegetables, extra Yorkshire for the Lamb & extra gravy. However both the... Really beautiful a la carte menu with silver service. The food was Outstanding. Went for a 40th birthday treat as two couples - glad we did not go on own as the clientele were all 60 something. The host and waitresses were very attentive even offering me reading glasses when she thought I had forgotten mine. Loads of specials, beautifully... More
