Description: Ten miles from Cardiff, in the historic market town of Cowbridge, you'll find Huddarts Restaurant. It's worth the trip. Inside the beautiful Georgian house, dating back to 1756 you'll find a delighful intimate restaurant boasting a selection of A La Carte dishes with a marriage of old time charm and modern splendour. Since 1996 all produce has been sourced as much as possible locally and prepared on the premises by owner chef Andrew Huddart, front of house is looked after by his wife Julie.

Thanks to the staff for a great Sunday lunch, set price for three courses £19.95, with a good choice for each course, broccoli and stilton soup was good with home made herby bread on the side, 3 of us plumped for roast beef, 1 for pork and 1 for breast of chicken, all very pleased with their choices, great big... Right on the main road through Cowbridge a quiet oasis with an elegant cadre and modern cooking with a different tilt. We ate bream with lime and rosemary sauce on a risotto bed after a starter of belly of pork on rhubarb. The ubiquitous chips were there again. Excellent service with just a glass of wine each.

On the main street of this small town with one hour parking outside the door so if you've a window seat you can watch your car. Great food. Owner (wife Julie) on site to see you are promptly greeted, seated, served and satisfied. Her husband Andrew is in the kitchen cooking and plating your food. If they are not too... More

We recently visited Cowbridge again on business and ate at a few of the eateries. Fairly average if I am honest but nothing to complain about however on the last night we ate at Huddarts again and clearly saved the best for last. The service was impeccable and the food to die for. You can clearly tell that these guys... More

Six of us visited Huddards on the 11th July, and I'm not sure if it was a bad night but, they sent out the wrong potato option with the steak, and one in our party did not get their main meal until the other five had almost finished. The table staff were very apologetic, but that doesn't really help. Very... More

I have been a regular visitor to Huddarts for many years and used it exclusively for a special event. Having travelled the world and eaten in many fine restaurants I can honestly say that I always look forward to my return to Huddarts. The service is always excellent. The food is always well prepared and fresh and it is great... More

Lovely piece of fillet steak, really good service and a very good bottle of red from Corbieres. However, the batter on the mixed fish starter and the chips for main were soggy rather than crispy (particularly the chips) which is a bit of a schoolboy error for a chef, perhaps the oil temperature was too low for my meal but... Recently had Sunday Lunch at Huddart's in Cowbridge. Food was very good, staff courteous and accommodating even though the restaurant was full and very busy. Food is freshly prepared, the restaurant will not suit the type of customers who prefer pre-packaged and re-heated 'pub' food. Will visit again.

The restaurant had no atmosphere at all. We felt like we couldn't talk or laugh, it was very dissappointing as we had heard great things about it. The starters were ok, however the main was terrible. The potatoes were like bullets, the veg was very hard and the Yorkshire pudding had been extremely over cooked. 3 members of the party... More
