Ten miles from Cardiff, in the historic market town of Cowbridge, you'll find Huddarts Restaurant. It's worth the trip. Inside the beautiful Georgian house, dating back to 1756 you'll find a delighful intimate restaurant boasting a selection of A La Carte dishes with a marriage of old time charm and modern splendour. Since 1996 all produce has been sourced as much as possible locally and prepared on the premises by owner chef Andrew Huddart, front of house is looked after by his wife Julie.

Top Class

This is a really super Resteraunt . Service, ambience comfort are all fine. What makes it, for my money anyway, the best in Cowbridge, with a good claim to be amongst the best in Wales, is the food and the way it's cooked and presented. You just can't get this sort of quality outside a small circle... read more

This restaurant is a must for lovers of good food. I am only sorry I did not find it sooner. We were guests of our dear friends and we were spoilt for choice. Ten out of ten for every aspect from the moment we entered to the time we left. The words fantastic and pleasure are meaningless, what a joy... More

We eat regularly here, but have not previously reviewed it as we selfishly prefer to keep it quiet. From the outside it can look a bit prim and proper with all white starched linen etc. but don't be deceived. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service is great. Non of this makes it, however - the food does that!... More

A nice restaurant that aims to provide a "higher quality" offer. A very good "Sunday Lunch" - fresh soup and bread was a steady starter; tasty roast, though companions who ordered 'rare' beef received a medium. The cheesecake dessert was fine but needed more 'bite' (is some lime) and the muesli base was too soft (lacked crunch).

Called in here this week and even though they were very busy with a WI Christmas party they managed to accommodate us without any problem. The service was attentive, the food was beautiful and the atmosphere (due to the Christmas party) was lovely. We would certainly recommend this wonderful little place and look forward to returning with my parents the... More

My wife and I have enjoyed a great number of evening meals at Huddart's over the past 17 years. We have never had an indifferent course on any occasion. . Quiet background music, spotless white linen, helpful non-intrusive service, is the setting for beautifully cooked produce (locally sourced whenever practicable), and quite exceptional presentation. Couple this with a wide choice... More

We visited here for a second time, with friends, for Sunday lunch. Again, the service was attentive and the food delicious, a feast for both the eyes and stomach. Good value for money.

"Little things mean a lot" as the song goes and it's certainly true in the case of this restaurant ,where the commitment to a personal touch, on seemingly unimportant small points adds up to making the occasion feel special. The food isn't bad neither :) ok it's not the sort of place you'd go every week but to eat at... More

Treated my mother to a meal at Huddarts although a little pricey, worth every single penny. Everything was to die for and I enjoyed every bite. If I was eating this meal in my own home I would have probably licked my plate clean.
