Great Country Pub

Another great country pub near Cowbridge. Easy walking distance from town so you can have more than one drink. The food is superb and would highly recommend it.

A lovely little country pub on the edge of Cowbridge with log burners both in the bar and the restaurant, making it feel very cosy on a cold winters day. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast served with seasonal veg (not just peas and carrots) and beautiful thick gravy. Will... More

We went to the Cross Inn by chance, and it was a really lucky find. It's obviously popular with locals and regulars, but is very welcoming to random visitors too. Really friendly staff who seem to enjoy working there. Good menu - we all had the vegetarian options, and everyone of them was clearly freshly prepared on the premises. Reasonably... More

Following a search for a dog friendly pub near to Cardiff, my wife and I found this little gem. The dog friendly credentials were confirmed by a swift e-mail reply, so we decided to call by for lunch after picking up my son from University in Cardiff. From the first foot through the door, we could not have been made... More

This place offers high quality meals at value prices, and in particular their steaks which are sourced from Garvey's in nearby Llantwit Major. We were visiting for the first time in several months and we were delighted to meet Ronnie, the chef from Glasgow. He disappeared to pastures new some months ago (can't keep a good man down), but has... More

The Cross Inn has excellent ales and a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant has a real log fire and a good selection of meals. A cosy night out.

On a warm summers evening we abandoned the children and strolled up to the local for a birthday treat. Thursday night is steak night so things were looking very promising. Having secured the new window seat, we settled in and placed our orders. Unfortunately, the white wine wasn't chilled enough and our glasses were filled to the brim, allowing it... More
