Good food, nice atmosphere, almost great!

We ate here last night for "date night", so booked a table on the day. Arriving at 2030, the restaurant was obviously busy, with tables still being filled with a second sitting after our arrival. Service was quick throughout, and staff polite and enthusiastic. The menu was tempting,a nice selection... read more

Good restaurant situated in the main road, cosy environment with roaring fire on a cold February night. Other than one large party there was only one other table occupied so service was swift. The menu was not extensive, which we always prefer. My scallop starter attracted my wife to take a sample portion which we both enjoyed. She enjoyed her... More

We ate dinner in this restaurant and the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive without being overpowering. The decor is also very relaxing. Infact all in all a very pleasant experience. If you are in Cowbridge make sure you have either lunch or dinner here.

Had lunch at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and it didn't dissapoint. In fact as it had been quite a while since we had eaten here I think we had forgotten how lovely the place is. The food was absolutely delicious and the service excellent. The service at The Market Place will take a lot of beating and... More

sadly the experience was not as good as past ones. Food was tasty but some was cold and had to be returned to be reheated - which spoilt the evening

Always a pleasure coming along to this olde worldy restaurant; staff always impeciably polite and courteous, food always an absolute dream. The daytime menus are good calue for money, and the house wine selection is always of good quality. There are nooks and crannys where you can be seated away from the main area, an outside patio where you can... More

Went here on a Wednesday evening with a group of colleagues. There were nine of us and everything we ordered was delicious. Friendly staff and quick service. I would definitely return! Quite pricey though - somewhere to go for a treat!
