Our restaurant is set in one of the most historic buildings in the beautiful town of Cowbridge, and exudes a timeless atmosphere. In winter we continue the old traditions with our warming log fires, and summer brings outdoor dining in our lovely walled garden. We offer a wide variety of freshly prepared modern European dishes, locally sourced and carefully arranged by classically trained chefs. We offer a fixed price lunch menu, £14.95 For two courses, and an "Early Supper" menu served from 18:00 - 18:55 Wed. - Fri. Which, at £14.95, Offers a great value way to sample our fantastic food. From our a la carte menu our starters include Seared scallops with cauliflower puree and black pudding, and our main course specialties include Pan roasted Welsh lamb, from a local farm, Honey glazed pork belly and Pan fried loin of cod. Both the lunch and evening menus can be completed with one of our exquisite desserts, including favourites such as hot chocolate fondant with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. The extensive and carefully chosen wine selection complements each and every dish on our menu, creating a truly outstanding culinary experience. The Market Place has become a bye-word for the best in food, dining and ambience.

Sunday lunch

Once again, really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The service was really good. Only, a bit of a heavy mark up on the wine.

Booked a table at the Market Place after hearing how good it was, and we were not disappointed. We ordered from the fixed lunchtime menu, which had a great selection on it, and was reasonably priced. The service was warm, friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The meals were delicious and plentiful. Overall a great afternoon, highly... More

Wonderful festive atmosphere and terrific food with a wide range to choose from. Special occasion place as it can be quite expensive.

We visited The Market Place for Sunday lunch and it was excellent in every way. Hugo ans his team looked after us with charm and attentive service. We were four adults, plus six and a nine year old. Children's portions were just the right size...everything disappeared! We will be back.

We wanted to show off the best Cowbridge has to offer to a visiting friend and The Market Place didn't disappoint. Delicious food, superb service and lovely ambiance. Each course was excellent and the wine was equally good. It's a treat well worth saving for a special occasion.

We decided to try here as its one of our locals and the food was rich and tasty! I'm a good cook and cook amazing roasts so don't like going out for them but glad I did! The beef (as you'll see) was medium rare AND came with a home made Yorkshire pudding AND home made horseradish sauce. The gravy... More

This was an early evening spur of the moment decision to eat out , my husband was on crutches and just didn't feel like cooking !!! We selected the Market Place because of its early diner menu - 2 /3 courses for a fixed price £16.95 \ £18.95 (I think for the 3 course) we checked out the menu ,... More

We have visited on a number of ocassions, the most recent being yesterday and it is our favourite place to eat! We always choose the two course set meal and the food is always delicious - we have never had a bad meal! Our particular favourites are the fishcakes, duck leg, liver, pork rissoles and BBQ ribs which we tried... More

Warm and inviting. Lovely cosy setting. Food was excellent and well presented. Staff were top notch! Not cheap, but you pay for quality. Only criticism is that both my partner and myself opted for a single glass of wine and there was a limited selection for the single glass option. Wouldn't let this put you off tho!
