Consistently brilliant!

I have been coming here for years and have never once had a bad experience. The food is always good with daily specials to add a bit of variety and you never go away hungry! My wife spotted this pub was promoting a Friday nights promotion, it centred around a " Pot of Mussels" accompanied by wines presented by their sommelier, Chris. We were first to arrive, and after some toing and froing about the suitability of the table we were allocated, my wife insisted on eating in the quieter restaurant and we eventually sat... More

Taken by friends, we had not visited for 10 years - what a treat. We dined on a mid week lunchtime & its as well we had booked. A traditional pub it served good food; had a good menu & specials board and a choice of real ales. The welcome was fantastic from the patrons & young waitress who attended... More

Me and my family stopped here randomly for lunch. First impressions of the pub were very welcoming and beautiful settings. There was a lot of choice on the menu, and to go with this a specials board, making a choice confusing. Service wasn't busy and food took a while to come. When it arrived I was disappointed by the food.... More

We ate in the bar because I'm a dog! The staff were really welcoming and the food is really well cooked pub grub. The wine list is a cut above the norm for a pub too. I found the smartie machine pretty hard to break into - but that was the only downside.

Lovely food good prices. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Its a family run pub and they are always happy and smiling. The food is lovely and to my delight even do a vegan option! But I can also say in my pre-vegan days we used to eat here a lot and the Crème brûlée is to die for! They... More

Called in for lunch today, I had the steak and ale pie and my husband had the cod in batter, the food was excellent, very generous portions, would have liked a sweet but were too full. A lovely old building, very cosy and the landlady and staff made us very welcome. Highly recommended for a visit, have been told the... More

Have eaten traditional Sunday lunch here a couple of times and it is very tasty with good portion sizes. In addition you can select from the 'specials' board if you don't want a roast dinner. The staff and owners very friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere and dining room bright and cheery.
