Lovely small cafe,

This is a lovely, quaint small cafe- little more than a converted crofters lodge- at the end of a track heading out of Glendale. It is popular, and full when we arrived- more on this later. Th building has been very well restored, modern yet keeps the character of the original building. Tables... read more

We came with a family group and discovered the Red Roof via a travel guide in one of the places we stayed in the area. We had six people in our party, including three with special dietary allergies. Each time we came, whether it was crowded or not, we received excellent service and delicious food. The vegan and gluten free... More

We are in the Glendale area for 2 weeks and visited the cafe at the start of our visit. I don't know if it was because we were there mid-afternoon but one portion of the chocolate fudge cake, which was the last piece - otherwise we would have ordered two pieces - was the size expected but the brownie ordered... We found this outstanding cafe quite by accident while looking for a local weaver in Glendale, a tiny village on the north west coast of the Isle of Skye. We arrived at the opening time of 11am to find fresh scones and cinnamon buns coming out of the oven, which we immediately ordered, and were then presented with two of... More

The cakes were all fantastic-try the Skye High Ginger Cake if they have it, it's the best ginger cake in the world. Not only that but the coffee was really excellent too. We were so impressed we ordered 2 of their cheese scones to take away for lunch on our walk. We had them up on the Quiraing and they... More

(Like the sheep you view from the window, next to the field where the salad they serve is grown) Turn up the dead end road in the village of Glendale for about a mile and you can't miss the red roof. Well worth the detour off the 'main' road! Food is sublime, ambience is chilled, drinks superb and I'm sure... More

We found this place by chance (well apart from the sign post). Clear bright coloured signs leading you to an adventure, a traditional croft cottage, painted beautifully in a gorgeous setting with sheep wandering by. The smell of the following day's chutney was very enticing. We had 70% dark hot chocolate, Brazilian coffee, lemon and poppy seed scone with orange... More

It's literally in the middle of nowhere but well indicated and the guys are nice. Food is just incredible... we had soup of the day (spicy roasted red pepper+sweet potato with rosemary and thyme), the fisherman, salad of the day, a giant cheese scone and desserts. Everything was just perfect... the one mile of single track with passing place is... More

All that previous reviewers have said is true. Keep going once you're sure you've gone too far up the side road and you'll find it. The staff are really friendly and the menu is comprised of high quality home made items. The menu is limited but this is a pragmatic approach if high standards are to be met. Everything we... More
