A highlight of our vacation!

My husband and I visited this cafe after a long morning of hiking. It was out of our way, but the drive was beautiful and our experience was well worth a few extra miles of driving. As a baker, I was extremely impressed with the fresh, homemade breads. The food used local greens and cheeses. The... read more

We shared 2 platters- the Hunters and the Cheese one, and weren't disappointed. The Earl Grey tea was fantastic as well, just what we needed on a windy and rainy summers day!!

Very simple menu, playing on the strengths of the area - good cheeses, fish, meat and salads, plus great home baking and good quality coffee. Really cosy surroundings, with nice art on the walls and local interest magazines and leaflets to flick through whilst you are eating. Whilst we were there, we overheard that the current owners are selling up... More

Loved this little cafe/gallery. We went on the off chance as had no booming, the owner was lovely, smiley and attentive without being too much. Her artwork all over the walls so something to look at whilst eating and chatting. The scones were amazing! Too much for me, but hubby gladly had the rest of mine. Sad that owner is... More

You have to try the scones ..... unbelievable! They cool under a cloth freshly baked and they are THE VERY BEST SCONES we've had. The menu is imaginative giving assurances of something different. 'Excellent' doesn't describe the cafe sufficiently, the place has a relaxing atmosphere, the staff work well together, and it was lovely to see such genuine harmony. The... More

I read about this place and decided it would be the place I'd take the family for lunch on our last day on Skye. We totally loved it! The staff are friendly. And the food is excellent! My husband and I shared a platter for two and it was truly delicious. Everything is made by the chef, from the biscuits... More

This Red Roof Cafe is worth a visit! It is a bit off the road, But! That shouldnt stop you from visiting this lovely cafe. We had a tea and scone with homemade jam and cream, wauw! Incredibly delicious! and the lady who owns it is so kind. I would love to come back here when we get back to... More

Lovely lunch with kids. Very friendly staff, excellent fresh local food. Recommend the laird's lunch. Interestingly the locally grown salad is what amazed us. Intense flavours that we've never experienced before. Kids well entertained with running about outside and they have a well stocked toyboy!

A mile or two up a small single track road is this gem of a cafe, serving light lunches and tea/ coffee during the day. The tea selection is, at first glance, rather strange - eg Earl Gray with flowers - but the taste is fantastic. My friend had chai, which is usually too sweet, but here was unsweetened and... More

My husband & I stumbled upon the Red Roof Cafe Gallery after a walk out to Neist Point in the rain. It provided some welcome hot drinks (soya milk available) & cakes (more than one vegan-friendly option) in a lovely setting. Highly recommend.
