What a superb welcome! Fiona met us at the door and was so welcoming. She helped us carry our cases up to our room. We enjoyed a tasty supper with wine. The room was comfortable with a nice view. We had a late breakfast and left knowing we would return next time we're in Cairnryan.

We were staying next door, popped in for dinner. We were given a warm welcome and made feel at home. Food is lovely, duck pate is great and the haddock and chips is proper homemade fare. Would happily go back and recommend to anyone

We stayed here for a night before taking the ferry to Belfast. Good accommodation, nice room, good breakfast, great shower! We had a meal in the bar as well which was excellent.

Stayed overnight in the Cairn (adjacent) awaiting the ferry next day. Had our evening meal and breakfast at The Merchants House and found the food was to a very high standard, obviously home cooked, and very reasonable priced. Our hosts were genial and very helpful. We will return to The Merchants/Cairn on our next visit to Ireland.

Called in for dinner as we were waiting for the boat. Lovely cosy place. Good wholesome choice on menu if limited. My husband had steak and kidney pie which he assures me was lovely even if the chips were very well done. My daughter and I had sausages and mash. Neither of us could eat the sausages. They tasted funny.... More

Eating next door is so convenient. The food was great, a good menu and good portion sizes. Fiona and Alan are good hosts.

The pub looked like it was under going renovations so we were directed to the public bar. It was very lived in with no other patrons however the meal was excellent including a tender and well cooked slab of sirloin steak. Quality of food surprised us.
