Just back from one of the best date nights in a long time. Customer service was excellent. Friendly staff, who done everything to ensure our visit was perfect. Food was delicious. Have booked up for valentines! Highly recommend, can't wait to go back

Visted this pub at lunch time today to meet up with friends. Nice to find a proper old fashioned pub, like they used to be. Only had a couple of drinks in there today But the restaurant was full and we are led to believe that on a sunday you can only get a table if booked in advance. What... More

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here after being recommended to the pub by a local lady. The 'On Special' Pulled Pork Roll was really good. They also served a good selection of local ales which were well kept. The setting is next to the castle and river with a free car park and the top of the 'high street' which... More

met my sister and brother-in-law for lunch on Friday, 2 January 2015 to celebrate new year. Great little pub, recently refurbished, good menu, sensible prices, great food, great service. Next door to Upnor Castle, great views over the river Medway, free parking at the top. Will be visiting again very soon.

However the pub was let down by the two young ladies covering the bar and service to the tables. They just seemed, to us, just a little too surly when taking orders... More

This is a tiny pub in a great location. It was refurbed last year, it also has a small garden to the rear. We enjoyed our meal here. There was a decent choice, I had crispy duck to start followed steak and ale pie. Portions were generous and the pie was particularly tasty. The others had sirloin steak and mutton... More

Have been to this Pub for lunch several times before for a light lunch. the previous Landlord had always made us welcome. When visiting today it was made quite clear that our custom was not wanted. We only wanted baguettes (£7.95 each, so hardly cheap) or Jacket potatoes, we were told that this would take at least 45 minutes to... More

In response to your review following your visit on sun 9/11/14 on arrival you were informed there was currently a 45 min wait for food for people who hadn't booked, however you were found a table immediately so you could sit and enjoy your coffees, we managed to find a slot for you within 15 min to which you declined....
