Visited on a Thursday eve , menu offered ham, egg and chunky chips , as this is a favourite decided to order .... Received two fried eggs, yolks hard, and obviously normal oven chips, on saying to the waitress I though this should be chunky chips, she just shrugged her shoulders! Husband ordered the steak pie which he says was... More

Visited today for a meal found it very easy by following signs, parked in free castle car park near by. Was welcomed and taken to our seats inside (but there is a lovely garden outside). Very cute and friendly pub/restaurant service and food is very top class better then some restaurants in Bluewater (bit bored of BW) and for a... More

We visited the little village of Upnor on a Friday morning mainly to see the Castle but decided to have lunch at the Tudor Rose afterwards. It seemed a lovely little throwback in time from the outside and promised a garden which seemed perfect for the hot day that we were enjoying. We ordered drinks and a light lunch (ham... More

I love this village and this is the best pub by far! Fantastic fresh food, great wine list and friendly staff and locals. The decor is really in keeping with the village and I've never had a bad meal/experience here. Worth a trip from London and beats silly London prices!

For some reason, even though we are quite local, we have never visited here until today. An unexpected day off meant the hubby treated me to lunch. Rather than the usual boring pubs local to us he announced he was taking me here as recommended by colleagues. Am so glad he did, its lovely! Friendly staff, wonderful quaint little pub,... More

Fairly boring menu with very few signs of any imagination and minimal choice for vegetarians. Food was 'okay' but plain and certainly not what might be expected for a beautiful little pub like this.

Went for a traditional Sunday lunch on a beautiful sunny weekend before our visit to Upnor Castle. Upnor is so quaint and lovely, and the pub is a tiny little 17th century gem with great food and a lovely location. We sat in the large garden at the rear, but later that day stopped in again for a drink and... More

Booked here for Sunday lunch and it was a good job we did as it started to get busy. Starter was great (Brie) followed by there Turkey roast which was very very nice. With drinks it comes in under £50 which is excellent value for money. Will deff be back

Dropped in for lunch after a visit to Upnor Castle. The staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. Exactly what I needed.
