New menu, with some brilliant additions, had a lovely noodle and beef dish, beef melted in my mouth. coupled with a great atmosphere and quality drinks, need I say more....

Pop in a few pints at the end of a busy work week every now and then. Friendly staff, great atmosphere! Nice comfortable outside seating area.

We went into George vaults for coffee with friends only to be told that they don't serve coffee after 5.00pm, this has happened to us anywhere else before. We'll never go back there again.

We were going to have a birthday celebration in the vaults as it's certainly quirky. However, we cancelled our booking as we thought it would be a bit cramped and uncomfortable for our guests. It also has an overwhelming musty smell as there isn't much fresh air getting down in those vaults. The toilets were well worn too and the... More

A good Sunday Brunch and Lunch place. Recommended to me and apparently excellent. I'm sure it is as the food that was served was very good but the portions were quite small and there were only 3 potatoes provided for 4 people. This was rectified after we asked but disappointing. Hopefully the next experience will live up to the recommendation.

Can only assume the positive reviews on here are not from people who have had the Christmas meal. Was amazed at how bad it was for a typical (rip off Britain) overpriced Xmas meal. I know lots of establishments feel the need to overcharge at Xmas, but they often give you a half decent meal to go with it. This... More

We ate in the ground floor bar/restaurant, I didn't know about the 'vaults' until later, but as it was lunch time perhaps not available any way. Our drinks were served promptly and order taken. Some time later as another meal passed our table we enquired about our order, it was just being plated and arrived soon afterwards. We were given... More

Couldn't make out if a wine bar, club or Restaurant when walking past , but the food was ok, Prawn Starters little tasteless, but steak was good. Meal for two £30 so very good value. Informal dining and very good service . Great courtyard for the summer. We will be back.

Went with friends last Sunday and ate down in the vaults, which is atmospheric and very different from most Sunday lunch venues. We had three courses and found the food very reasonable, served hot, with adequate portions. The tiger prawn starter in particular was noteworthy, with very juicy prawns. The main course beef wasn't underdone like in some places that... More

I used to walk past this restaurant but don't make the same mistake. Food and great staff, extremely relaxing time. The roast are great although the pork has changed it's still lovely. Definitely worth a visit.
