Visited with family members for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but were made very welcome. The menu was limited to Sunday roasts but included a very imaginative vegetarian choice. The food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented and delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming.

Visited The Gaorge Vaults using a voucher for two Sirloin Steaks I'd purchased in November. Rochester High street has always been a good place to visit & having not been to this establishment, seemed a reasonable chance of a good meal. The venue was warm informal and friendly. We were greeted rapidly & shown downstais even though the bar area... More

Had a delicious 2 course meal - Tomato soup followed by sirloin steak. Homemade soup with fresh bread and butter was vey nice on a cold Saturday afternoon. The steak was very tender, cooked as ordered and served with tasty chips. Staff polite, courteous and checked to ensure my satisfaction. Situated at the castle end of the High Street, definitely... We had Saturday lunch here last week. When we entered, my wife was gobsmacked i.e. how many times have you eaten in a 14th Century former church vault? The food was great i.e. Moroccan chicken and duck two ways with good puddings and it is well priced too. With two courses, wine, drinks and coffee just short of £60. This... More

Work takes us for a Christmas dinner every year as a small reward for all our hard work. this year they booked us into the George Vaults. First impression was a nice clean, modern bar with a few tables for patrons to sit and eat. Pleasant staff served our drinks while we waited to sit down to eat. When we... More

We tried this place for lunch today.Never again! My meal of prawns and halibut in a sauce came with basmati rice AND a flat bread. Why 2 carbs when one is surely enough? Also, no green salad or vegetable to accompany the dish was a poor oversight. It would have been just as easy to do a green salad instead... More
