Been looking at this restaurant for a while. Wish I hadn't bothered. Staff were nice, but the food was bland. The bread was dripping in oil. Yuck.!! Food came out really quickly. Too quick. Wonder what went in the microwave. Won't return.

I always approach 'ethnic' restaurants in small towns with trepidation.... they can be very bland and totally geared to the after pub trade- Tamarind however is an exception. The meal that we had was carefully prepared, with evidence of real cooking going on backstage, tender marinaded meat, well spiced vegetarian dishes, and a variety that will suit their clientele. I... Went here with a party of 8, we were given plenty of time to select our dishes and the waiter had a good sense of humour, food all arrived together and nice and hot, really enjoyed the selection of dishes we chose, even those new to Indian restaurants found dishes to there liking, would go again :-)

Same old same old: uninspired generic sauce flavoured dishes masquerading under fancy names on the menu. They sound good, but rarely deliver. Came in here because I hadn't been here for five years, but nothing's changed. Portions on the small side, too. Staff friendly though, especially the manager. Otherwise, no competition to the one down the road.

Same old very oily curries, bland tasting and not very warm! Soggy poppadoms as well. Nothing has changed since my review in 2012 and any suggestions or complaints seem to fall on deaf ears. Will not be visiting again!!

Visit to Broadstairs with friends, took us for an Indian and I must say staff, really nice, food undoubtedly the worst curry I have had ever. I'm 42 very well traveled and and food was awful. Cold, tastless we cancelled one curry as didn't want to waste food.

We'll I'm glad I didn't read some of the reviews on TA before we went. We turned up on a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was relatively quiet but not empty. Staff were very friendly. We liked the look of the menu which had quite a few dishes we hadn't seen before. Ok so the food didn't arrive quickly but when it... More

Tamarind has a sense of style which immediately sets it apart from other similar establishments in the area. For those who love good Indian cuisine this is the very best. Hosted by the charming patron Mohibur, Tamarind offers an exciting fusion of Indian and Bangladeshi dishes that make the menu well worth carefully exploring prior to ordering. Fish lovers may...
