The restaurant gives the impression of being classier than it is. Since they offer south Indian dishes, we tried these, but were disappointed with 3 of the 4 main dishes which really tasted similar to each other. I suspect the chef used the same tomato/onion/spice base evenb though 2 of the dishes were supposed top be based on cocunut. The... More

Arrived at 6pm to order a takeaway on a quiet Monday evening. Order taken and food was supposed to be ready in 15-20 minutes. I sat and waited, and waited and waited some more. After 45 minutes I asked where my order was and as if by magic it appeared. Clearly the staff had completely forgotten about me even though... More

We arrived at 7 for a booked birthday meal for 16 people. We all arrived on time and we're sat down and waiting by 10 past 7. It took them over 20 minutes to take drinks orders and food orders. They then brought out just two poppadoms all broken up with dips for all 16 of us to share. We... More

Visited this place due to the normal one being fully booked. First impressions, tastefully decorated, excellent service unfortunately this is where it goes downhill slightly. The food was very average. They was nothing actually wrong with the meal I just expect that something extra when I go to a restaurant and unfortunately this was no better than a supermarket ready... We have been going to Tamarind for quite a while and always end up going back. We have been to other Indian Restaurants but none come up to the standard of this one. You cannot fault the food at all and have never had a duff meal there. The staff are very friendly and caring. They will go the extra... More

Our meal was very enjoyable, had an item that I like that is not on a lot of Indian menus which was pleasing. One minor blip when we asked for more wine, they forgot us, but it did not spoil our evening. As we were on holiday and this was our first visit to this restaurant the staff made us... More

A favourite of ours. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we had space to accommodate a mobility aid. Clean and welcoming but all the hard surfaces make it somewhat noisy. That might have something to do with all the customers enjoying themselves! Some less common dishes on the menu, we went for some milder options... More
