Description: The Fishpond Matlock Bath is back and now represents the ultimate free...
The Fishpond Matlock Bath is back and now represents the ultimate free house experience for the people and visitors of Matlock Bath. Offering an unsurpassed range of traditional beers, continental lagers, fine wines, spirits and soft drinks, the newly refurbished bar is a great place to meet with friends or family. By working with our local breweries we hope to provide our customers with a more sophisticated selection at the bar. Guests of our establishment are not only offered a dynamic place to gather and mingle, but also a place to participate in the entertainment through interactive events, celebrations, and live music. Our new Artisan bakery will provide our menus with the finest breads, pastries and pizza - all served in our casual dining ambiance. The philosophy of food at the fishpond is to ethically source seasonal fresh produce to deliver an unrivalled taste experience. Our Espresso coffee and Teas selection sourced from local Roasters is available throughout service along with menus that reflect the time of day. For those wanting a spot of live music Over the years The Fishpond name has become synonymous with Live Music, our 200 capacity Ballroom regularly hosts live bands and entertainment and has seen the likes of Ian Dury, Thin Lizzy take the stage. As a focal point for local and touring music please check our gig guides to find out what's coming up as we look to reinstate the reputation of this once great music venue. And we are also proud to introduce our Raft Restaurant... Raft restaurant floats neatly on The Fishpond at Matlock Bath and retains many of the historic buildings original features. We aim to take our food to another level; offering a unique dining experience from solid oak tables complete with fish detail to the warming log burners that frame the room. The style of food on offer is contemporary British with a European twist and the menus will showcase the best local produce from reputable suppliers. Our menu will also follow the seasons to ensure ingredients are at their finest when used. We take pride in the reputation we have as a friendly, welcoming and professional venue, and hope to see you soon at The Fishpond!

Good food and value for money

Had a nice meal here. My wifes steak was very good and was done just right. The burger I had seemed to have a slightly odd taste but was very meaty and appetising. The fries were done with skins on but were a little soggy. The onion rings and tomato with the steak were good (onion rings definitely... read more

Called in for food last Friday evening with a large pre-wedding group of family and friends and stayed for excellent fish and chips and great beer. Just wanted to say 'thank you' to the bar staff who went beyond the call of duty to make us welcome and helped to find enough space for us to sit and eat together.... More

Mediocre England at its culinary (ahem) best. C'mon guys, we've evolved from cans and deep freezers.

Popped in on a whim. Had a nice meal myself but a few in my group weren't satisfied. The beer choice however went down very well

Pub food is usually good value but normally out of packets and microwaved. This however boasted home cooking and indeed it was. The wife went for scampi and she got a plateful, I went for ribs (always one of my favourites) and I also got a plateful. Always a bit messy but worth the effort. We booked a table as... More

This Bar/Restaurant was recommended by the owner of a local B&B and we visited for food on a quiet Wednesday night. We were offered either the bar or restaurant menu by the very friendly and welcoming Alice - as in wonderland as she described herself 😊 and we opted to eat in the bar. The menu was varied with many... More

Huge place that also does accommodation and has separate restaurant. We ate in the bar, food was OK but nothing special, decent range of beers, nice big bright bar with friendly staff

Hello there and thank you for your review. Unfortunately we do not have accommodation although I think some of the late night drinkers would like it if we did. I am sorry we didn't blow you away with our food (hopefully we will next time) but I am glad you enjoyed the beer and the service. Hope you will come... More

Popped in for a quick pint. Staff very friendly. A lady was coughing due to a cold and one of the bar staff gave her a cough remedy, a hot toddy free of charge. I feel a cough coming on lol food looks delicious.

Our first visit but it won't be our last. Friendly, welcoming staff and great food. We were very well looked after by Aaron "safe hands" who made a real effort for our birthday celebrations. Many thanks!
