The Fishpond Matlock Bath is back and now represents the ultimate free house experience for the people and visitors of Matlock Bath. Offering an unsurpassed range of traditional beers, continental lagers, fine wines, spirits and soft drinks, the newly refurbished bar is a great place to meet with friends or family. By working with our local breweries we hope to provide our customers with a more sophisticated selection at the bar. Guests of our establishment are not only offered a dynamic place to gather and mingle, but also a place to participate in the entertainment through interactive events, celebrations, and live music. Our new Artisan bakery will provide our menus with the finest breads, pastries and pizza - all served in our casual dining ambiance. The philosophy of food at the fishpond is to ethically source seasonal fresh produce to deliver an unrivalled taste experience. Our Espresso coffee and Teas selection sourced from local Roasters is available throughout service along with menus that reflect the time of day. For those wanting a spot of live music Over the years The Fishpond name has become synonymous with Live Music, our 200 capacity Ballroom regularly hosts live bands and entertainment and has seen the likes of Ian Dury, Thin Lizzy take the stage. As a focal point for local and touring music please check our gig guides to find out what's coming up as we look to reinstate the reputation of this once great music venue. And we are also proud to introduce our Raft Restaurant... Raft restaurant floats neatly on The Fishpond at Matlock Bath and retains many of the historic buildings original features. We aim to take our food to another level; offering a unique dining experience from solid oak tables complete with fish detail to the warming log burners that frame the room. The style of food on offer is contemporary British with a European twist and the menus will showcase the best local produce from reputable suppliers. Our menu will also follow the seasons to ensure ingredients are at their finest when used. We take pride in the reputation we have as a friendly, welcoming and professional venue, and hope to see you soon at The Fishpond!

Bring a plate

Having made our first visit here the only let down was lack of a plate. Our food which i must say was 100% but we both found it hard to stop the food escaping from a "slate". Maybe this is some olde worlde thing but they would be better on the roof and not on a table. The staff were... read more

Dropped in at the Fishpond, nice pub inside and staff seemed keen to serve. Looks like they are doing some work on the gardens at the back of the place so sat out front. No very appealing to be honest. Some tables not cleared, rubbish, cigarette ends and leaves etc lying all over the place, could do with a tidy... More

Great place for lunch. We loved the fish finger sandwiches! And Old Rosie cider on draft. Well recommended.

I took my kids there for a meal as I was recommended by a fellow patron at the b&b we stayed at. It was packed when we got there, we did manager to find a table and order food. Suddenly lots got up and went upstairs to the comedy club, it was a Thursday night when we went so I... More

We visited on 10/05 and were pleasantly surprised to find they allowed dogs, the pub is well decorated and clean, we ordered the steak and chips, which came with onion rings and grilled tomato, the steak was delicious and a beautiful cut which meant hardly any was left for the dog! The chips were tasty with skin on, and plentiful... More

I will get the negative over first....why do so many things places, serve food in bizarre and inappropriate receptacles? My burger would have been so much nicer on a plate, it would have been easier to cut and eat and the chips wouldn't have been soggy. My partner's pickled onions rolled off the slate.... That aside the food was tasty and... More

We were invited out to "The Fishpond " by family and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were greeted by "Arran" one of the staff who was very knowledgeable about the food and beer on sale here. The food was good, plentiful, well presented and reasonably priced drinks as well. The view from the windows on the second floor onto the fishpond... More

Called in for food last Friday evening with a large pre-wedding group of family and friends and stayed for excellent fish and chips and great beer. Just wanted to say 'thank you' to the bar staff who went beyond the call of duty to make us welcome and helped to find enough space for us to sit and eat together.... More
