The Fishpond Matlock Bath is back and now represents the ultimate free house experience for the people and visitors of Matlock Bath. Offering an unsurpassed range of traditional beers, continental lagers, fine wines, spirits and soft drinks, the newly refurbished bar is a great place to meet with friends or family. By working with our local breweries we hope to provide our customers with a more sophisticated selection at the bar. Guests of our establishment are not only offered a dynamic place to gather and mingle, but also a place to participate in the entertainment through interactive events, celebrations, and live music. Our new Artisan bakery will provide our menus with the finest breads, pastries and pizza - all served in our casual dining ambiance. The philosophy of food at the fishpond is to ethically source seasonal fresh produce to deliver an unrivalled taste experience. Our Espresso coffee and Teas selection sourced from local Roasters is available throughout service along with menus that reflect the time of day. For those wanting a spot of live music Over the years The Fishpond name has become synonymous with Live Music, our 200 capacity Ballroom regularly hosts live bands and entertainment and has seen the likes of Ian Dury, Thin Lizzy take the stage. As a focal point for local and touring music please check our gig guides to find out what's coming up as we look to reinstate the reputation of this once great music venue. And we are also proud to introduce our Raft Restaurant... Raft restaurant floats neatly on The Fishpond at Matlock Bath and retains many of the historic buildings original features. We aim to take our food to another level; offering a unique dining experience from solid oak tables complete with fish detail to the warming log burners that frame the room. The style of food on offer is contemporary British with a European twist and the menus will showcase the best local produce from reputable suppliers. Our menu will also follow the seasons to ensure ingredients are at their finest when used. We take pride in the reputation we have as a friendly, welcoming and professional venue, and hope to see you soon at The Fishpond!

excellent food and service

excellent food and service, well worth the wait for the food, and reasonably priced. would have been 5 out of 5 but we had dirty glasses, and these were the best the bar tender could find. Will be going back, despite this.

Visited on Wednesday 22nd April 2015. The service was fantastic, staff we're really friendly. We bought food which was not only great value for money but was all homemade and great tasting. Would recommend highly.

We visited Matlock Bath for the day Monday 20th April and visited the Fishpond for a drink. We were served by Alice/Alison (sorry not sure on name) she was very friendly and chatted with us for a long time! We also visited at night and the pub seemed popular as there were quite a few people in there. The pub... More

As being apart of CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ales) We have called here before. They have a good selection of Real Ales and the food is great. I've had the fish which i must say is beautiful although my only complaint was that i wanted more of they're homemade tarta sauce. But today I tried the 'Beef Burger' really juicy... More

I never normally do a review but after eating here last night with my friends i would never eat there again. Waited 50 mins for burnt soggy chips, burnt scampi, cremated lasagne( or thats what it was supposed to be) tiny tiny portions and even after complaining about the poor food served we did not even get an apology, we... We have had drinks at the Fishponds on several occasions and have always enjoyed the variety of real ales available. We decided to eat there for the first time, based on friends' recommendations. What a disappointment. I ordered beef stew with crusty bread, price £6.50. The bowl was the size of a large teacup and contained gravy, plus some pleasant... More

I rarely leave reviews however the experience in The Fishpond today made me feel the need to share! From the gorgeous food we had in our b and b and another local restaurant last night, The Fishpond was our last stop and what a disappointment! On arrival I struggled to find someone to ask where my table was. On placing... More

Walking upto The Fishpond, it looks okay. When inside tables were lacking chairs but we overlooked that and found a spare two for one of the free tables (even though it was dirty). When ordering the guy behind the bar wasn't interested in our order and the specials advertised food which wasn't available. We have to change orders and then... More

Just been to 'The Fishpond' for a few drinks while visiting Matlock Bath. The pub/restaurant is based at the end of the 'Matlock Bath Strip'. Old looking building from the outside however looks like it has had a recent refurb inside with old and new styled decor. Good choice of food on the menu including burgers and of course fish...
