Visited Matlock Bath on Saturday and was surprised that most pubs stopped serving food early evening. The Fishpond serves food until 9pm so this is where we ended up. As a group we had steaks, beef burgers and veggie burgers. One of our friends suggested the food was 'style over substance' but ate his words when he struggled to finish... More

Wow, what a great friendly pub with fantastic staff and a wide range of drinks, we were made to feel so welcome here and it was nice to sit outside and watch the world just pass by.

A group of 5 of us ate in the restaurant last weekend. It was a real treat to eat such wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere that didn't feel 'stuffy' or pretentious. The standard of food was first class and presented beautifully. We all had a great evening - made extra special by the fact that we went into the... More

We had been recommended to the restaurant and first impressions were a bit down-beat. However, when the food arrived we realised that nothing else mattered. The food was first class and there was plenty of it.

I have to say that after visiting last year I was slightly disappointed in our visit this year, whilst we were welcomed in a warm manner I felt once we'd left the bar after placing our order we were forgotten about. The food was average with the steak slightly overcooked, and the cheesy garlic bread on the burnt side, had... More

Sunday afternoon, all outside seats taken, every picture tells a story. Service was good, the beer was good and the sausage roll I had was superb, cannot comment on the other food as we were eating elsewhere but a good pub to me. Well done.
